Job Overview

Title:

AMS Layout Engineer

Description:

  • layout design: design and implement high-quality analog and mixed-signal ic layouts for various technologies (cmos, bicmos, soi, etc.) using industry-standard eda tools.
  • drc/lvs compliance: perform design rule checks (drc) and layout versus schematic (lvs) checks to ensure the layout adheres to design specifications and process rules.
  • parasitic extraction: work closely with simulation engineers to extract parasitic elements from layouts (rc, capacitance, etc.) and help ensure minimal impact on circuit performance.
  • circuit optimization: ensure that the layout meets performance specifications, such as speed, power consumption, and area, while optimizing the layout for manufacturability and cost.
  • layout automation: use automated tools and scripts to improve layout efficiency and reduce design time.
  • collaboration: work in close coordination with analog and mixed-signal circuit designers to ensure layout compatibility with circuit specifications.
  • tapeout support: provide design and layout support during the tapeout process, ensuring the layout is ready for fabrication.
  • design verification: conduct checks for layout integrity, and provide feedback to circuit designers for any necessary adjustments.
  • technology expertise: maintain an in-depth understanding of process technologies, design methodologies, and layout best practices to deliver robust and reliable designs.
  • continuous improvement: stay updated with new layout methodologies, tools, and best practices in the analog ic design field.

qualifications:

  • education: bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field.
  • experience:3+ years of experience in analog or mixed-signal ic layout design.
  • proficiency with eda tools such as cadence, synopsys, mentor graphics, or similar.
  • experience with layout tools such as virtuoso, and familiarity with the layout of standard cells, analog components (transistors, resistors, capacitors), and custom circuit blocks.
  • skills:strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and analog circuit behavior.
  • hands-on experience with layout automation, scripting (e.g., skill, tcl, python).
  • knowledge of process technology and design rules (cmos, bicmos, soi).
  • strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
