Critical Power Testing - Manager

Description:

key responsibilities :


  • manage product testing and validation for critical power supply system, including smps, ac/dc converters, dc/dc converters, dc/ac inverters, ups and telecom battery backups.
  • analyze and validate electrical schematics and bom.
  • develop test strategies and derive validation and verification requirements.
  • execute test protocols, validation plans and qa procedures with precision.
  • lead and manage customer inspections and fat processes.
  • lead a team of testing engineers and technicians, ensuring precise execution of both manual and automated test cases.
  • ensure test documentation, reporting, and traceability of all test results.
  • support root cause analysis and corrective action for field failures or customer complaints.
  • collaborate with external labs and certification bodies for compliance testing and approvals.
  • engage in all phases of system test development from product definition to production deployment, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • ensure all products meet performance, safety, reliability, and regulatory standards (etsi, iec, ieee, etc.).
  • coordinate with r&d, design, and product teams to review design validation plans and suggest improvements.
  • maintain, calibrate and evaluate factory test instruments and equipment's.
  • participate in internal and external customer audits, including iso compliance evaluations, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • drive continuous improvement in testing processes, turnaround time, and product quality.


qualification & skill sets:

  • b.e./b.tech in electrical, electronics, or power engineering.
  • strong knowledge in dc power systems, telecom site power architecture, and backup solutions.
  • hands-on experience in testing smps, batteries, power electronics, and telecom energy systems.
  • highly proficient in troubleshooting electrical systems using devices like power analyzer, oscilloscope and hi-pot testers.
  • proficient in customer inspections and fat processes.
  • skilled in applying problem-solving techniques such as 5-why, 8d, and fishbone analysis.
  • strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols, including modbus tcp/ip, can, rs485, and rs232, spi.
  • familiarity with national and international testing standards, including etsi, iec, bis, and ce.
  • basic knowledge in programming with c#, c++, and python for test automation.
  • exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to issue resolution.
  • knowledge in analytical tools such as labview and matlab (preferred).
  • ability to lead teams, manage schedules efficiently and coordinate across multiple departments for seamless operations.
  • experience in implementing and maintaining iso 9001:2015, ems iso 14001:2015, and ohsas 18001:2007 standards, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.


preferred traits:

  • experience in telecom oems or power product companies.
  • exposure to type test, fat, reliability test and environmental testing.
  • knowledge of emi/emc testing is an added advantage.
