job purpose:
we are seeking a highly skilled network and communication leader with upto 18 years of experience to oversee our organization's network infrastructure and ensure secure, efficient, and continuous communication systems. the ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering, including expertise in cisco, fortigate firewalls, wi-fi, mobile network 3g/4g/5g, cctv, tmrs, ip phones systems.
principal accountabilities:
leadership and management:
- leading a team of network and security engineers to provide 24x7 support, provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineers and support staff.
- demonstrate ownership and leadership in his/her role.
- manage vendor relationships, overseeing service agreements and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services.
- provide training and development opportunities for the operations and support team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- stay current with emerging technologies and trends in network security, communication systems, and surveillance technologies.
network and communication support:
- design, planning and implementing network solutions and upgrades.
- ensuring network security and compliance with standards.
- managing network devices throughout their lifecycle.
- oversee network performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions to maintain high availability and reliability (wifi/switches/routers/firewalls/tmrs etc).
- oversee firewall configurations to safeguard the network against threats.
- develop and enforce network security policies and procedures in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- ensure backup of devices/configuration and ensure timely testing for restoration.
- conducting regular inspections and repairs of tower structures.
- installing and maintaining wireless communication systems, including cellular and microwave equipment.
- ensuring safety protocols are followed during tower climbs and maintenance.
- develop and implement airport telecom strategy (4g/5g/ private lte)
- develop and implement strategic plans for network and communications, aligning with bial's overall it strategy and business objective.
new requirement:
- participate in product/vendor evaluation process for any rfp/rfq
- work with arb and provide design recommendations.
- write brd, rfp for operational requirement work with stakeholders for approval/vendor selection/implementation of projects.
- work with business teams/vendors on various poc.
process improvement:
- develop and maintain standard operating procedures (sops) for network support.
- identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
- ensure compliance with itil and other relevant frameworks.
- adhere and improve on kpis and slas relevant to network uptime, incident resolution, customer satisfaction, etc
- create and execute bcp plans.
- identify and implement best practices.
- conduct regular system audits, performance monitoring, and maintenance to prevent downtime and outages
stakeholder & financial management:
- act as the primary point of contact for network and communications related matters.
- ensure compliance as per bial and other regulatory guidelines.
- be audit ready and face and lead audits for network and communications.
- collaborate with business units to understand their needs and requirements and address the same.
- communicate effectively with various vendors/oems and other stakeholders.
- manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring that service level agreements (slas)/operations level agreements (ola) are met and that services are delivered according to agreed-upon standards.
- collaborate with internal stakeholders, including airline partners, airport operations, and security teams, to align network and communications team with business needs.
reporting and documentation:
- prepare and present regular reports on network and communications metrics and performance.
- systematically track and close issues/actions and key deliverable.
- maintain accurate documentation, processes and procedures.
education qualification and certifications
- qualification: be / b. tech / diploma in communication, computer science or equivalent
- prior experience in aviation/airport/telecom industry.
- experience with various network and communications technologies like cisco/avaya/fortinet
- knowledge of software defined network (cisco sda fabric)/firewall/switches/routers/4g/5g and awaya unified communications.
- ccna/ccie or equivalent certification
- excellent organizational and project management skills
- excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- excellent ms office skills (powerpoint/word/excel etc.)
- experience with itil or other relevant frameworks is a plus.
- advanced level cisco certifications.
experience - upto 18 years in network and communications support in a multivendor environment, with 5+ experience in a leadership or managerial role.
