job summary:
we are seeking a skilled f5 network engineer to design, implement, manage, and support f5 load balancing solutions across enterprise network environments. the ideal candidate will have in-depth experience with f5 big-ip modules, including ltm, gtm (dns), asm, and apm, and a strong understanding of networking protocols, application delivery, and security best practices.
key responsibilities:
- deploy, configure, and manage f5 big-ip appliances (physical and virtual)
- manage and optimize f5 modules: ltm (local traffic manager), gtm (global traffic manager), asm (application security manager), and apm (access policy manager)
- perform system upgrades, patching, and backups of f5 devices
- develop irules and iapps to support application delivery needs
- troubleshoot and resolve load balancing, traffic routing, and application access issues
- collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure availability and performance
- monitor system performance and availability, responding to alerts as necessary
- ensure compliance with security standards and implement access controls as required
- document all configurations, changes, and procedures
required skills & qualifications:
- bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with f5 big-ip technologies
- proficiency in writing irules and f5 scripting (tcl, bash, or python)
- strong understanding of networking protocols: tcp/ip, http/https, dns, ssl/tls, etc.
- experience with load balancing for web and enterprise applications
- knowledge of web application firewalls (waf) and f5 asm
- familiarity with identity and access management using f5 apm
- strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
