job summary:
looking for an experienced mysql dba & developer to design, maintain, and optimize mysql databases for high-volume applications. must be capable of managing large-scale data operations (in tbs), cloud/on-prem deployments, etl pipelines, and ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
key responsibilities:
database administration
- install, configure, upgrade mysql (v5.5-v8.0) on vm, systems, and azure cloud.
- manage backup, recovery, drdp, auto-recovery, and replication setups.
- tune performance (queries, indexes, server settings); ensure database security and access control.
- monitor systems using tools like percona toolkit, nagios, or prometheus.
- maintain architecture documentation, cronjobs, and archiving strategies.
mysql development
- write complex sql queries, views, triggers, procedures; design schemas.
- create & optimize etl pipelines for data loading/extraction (including staged loads).
- handle large-volume data migration, cleaning, normalization, and modeling.
- support analytics and report development (superset, power bi, tableau preferred).
- implement schema changes, assist dr planning, and support app integration.
technical skills required:
- mysql (v5.5/8.0), sql, indexing, encryption, query tuning
- etl tools, ssis, scripting (python, bash), linux/unix
- cloud (azure preferred, aws/gcp a plus), job schedulers (autosys, cron)
- familiar with high availability, clustering, sharding, failover systems
- experience with servicenow, jira, devops, and bi tools is a plus
