QA Engineer
about the role:
we are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented qa/test engineer with 2-4 years of experience, primarily focused on user acceptance testing (uat) of microsoft-built applications (e.g., sharepoint, teams, power platform apps) and web applications. the ideal candidate is highly hands-on, curious, and up to date with modern testing practices and tools. they should be able to anticipate issues, recommend improvements, and contribute to elevating the overall quality assurance process.
key responsibilities:
plan, design, and execute uat for microsoft 365 apps and custom web applications.
collaborate with business stakeholders and developers to gather uat requirements and define test cases.
validate user journeys, functional flows, and integration points across microsoft and web platforms.
identify, document, and track defects and ensure timely resolution.
proactively suggest improvements in testing strategies, tools, or processes.
stay current with emerging testing techniques and tools and assess applicability to ongoing projects.
assist in regression testing, exploratory testing, and smoke testing as needed.
participate in sprint planning, reviews, and qa retrospectives.
contribute to test data preparation and environment setup when needed.
qualifications:
2-4 years of hands-on experience in software testing, with a strong focus on uat.
familiarity with microsoft ecosystem: sharepoint, teams, power apps, power automate, dynamics 365, etc.
experience testing modern web applications (spa, responsive ui, restful apis).
solid understanding of sdlc, agile, and qa best practices.
knowledge of defect tracking tools (e.g., azure devops, jira).
familiar with testing techniques like boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, and exploratory testing.
proficient in writing clear, concise test cases and documentation.
strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
must-have certifications:
istqb foundation level (ctfl) - or equivalent internationally recognized qa certification.
microsoft certified: power platform fundamentals - for understanding and testing microsoft low-code solutions.
agile testing certification (optional but preferred) - such as icagile certified professional - agile testing (icp-tst) or equivalent.
preferred skills:
exposure to automation tools (e.g., selenium, playwright) is a plus.
experience with low-code/no-code testing tools or platforms.
