job summary:
we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented senior test engineer with 4-8 years of experience in android-based smartphone testing, mobile application testing, and qa methodologies. the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in android log analysis, bug tracking (e.g., jira), and both manual and automation testing.
key responsibilities:
- design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for android smartphones and mobile applications.
- perform functional, regression, performance, and system testing on android platforms.
- analyze android logs (logcat, crash logs, etc.) to troubleshoot and identify root causes of issues.
- collaborate closely with development, product, and design teams to ensure product quality.
- report, track, and manage defects using tools such as jira or similar.
- develop and maintain test documentation including test cases, bug reports, and qa metrics.
- perform ota update testing, compatibility testing, and localization testing as needed.
- provide mentorship to junior testers and contribute to test strategy improvements.
required skills & experience:
- 4-8 years of experience in mobile device testing, specifically android smartphones and applications.
- strong knowledge of android os, adb commands, and log analysis tools.
- experience with manual testing and familiarity with automation tools/frameworks is a plus (e.g., appium, espresso).
- solid understanding of software testing methodologies, sdlc, and stlc.
- hands-on experience with bug tracking tools like jira.
- good communication and documentation skills.
