role: software engineer - backend
reporting to: engineering manager
roles & responsibilities
- design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using java and spring boot, with deep knowledge of mvc, security, and internal sdks (e.g., jdbc, s3 integration).
- architect scalable microservices, restful apis, and background workers for e-signature workflows, secure file transformation, and notification handling.
- translate business requirements into well-structured high-level designs (hlds) and low-level designs (llds) - including apis, sequence flows, and data models.
- implement secure document processing pipelines using apache poi, docx4j, xdocreport, flying saucer, and zxing.
- ensure end-to-end security with jwt, jws, jwe, oauth2, and pki standards; familiarity with cryptographic concepts is essential.
- manage relational data models and schema migrations using sql (postgresql/mysql) and flyway; working knowledge of nosql (e.g., mongodb) is a plus.
- deploy, monitor, and scale services in aws using docker, kubernetes, and terraform; hands-on with observability tools like datadog.
- follow agile practices and collaborate with cross-functional teams including qa, devops, and product.
- continuously explore and apply emerging libraries and frameworks in non-critical systems.
qualifications
- bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- experience working in agile/scrum development teams.
- demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team.
- eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute in a fast-paced product development environment.
