purpose of the job:
the scm data analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data in the fields of supply chain planning, inventory, forecast & customer service domain and expected to contribute with his valuable insights to support strategic initiatives as part of global supply chain team.
major responsibilities
- utilize statistical and analytical tools to assess and interpret supply chain data.
- generate reports and dashboards to communicate key supply chain planning metrics and insights to stakeholders.
- collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data/logic relevant to their operations, analyse data and extract insights. shape the insights to form supply chain strategies accordingly.
- collect, validate, and clean data from various sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- work with it teams to automate data extraction processes and maintain data integrity.
- utilize statistical and data analysis tools to examine historical trends, demand patterns, and other relevant factors influencing supply chain planning.
- develop and maintain predictive models to address key supply chain gaps.
- identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions based on data analysis.
- analyse supply chain performance metrics and provide recommendations to enhance efficiency and reduce cost.
- present findings in a clear and concise manner to support data-driven decision-making.
- provide analytical support for cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in data analytics.
- conduct demand analysis to optimize inventory levels and ensure product availability.
- design appropriate sops, training decks in collaboration with project leads, users and it folks
- present findings in a clear and concise manner to support data-driven decision-making.
- provide analytical support for cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in data analytics.
- conduct demand analysis to optimize inventory levels and ensure product availability.
- design appropriate sops, training decks in collaboration with project leads, users and it folks
- learn and master system/process concepts in supply chain planning areas and impart periodic training on these core concepts to end users.
- develop data governance and record maintenance for all key projects/kpi data.
- identify inefficiencies in the supply chain data process and develop and implement improvement strategies.
- work with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance overall supply chain effectiveness specific to key supply chain issues/priorities.
- assess potential risks in the supply chain data maintenance and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
- foster effective communication and collaboration with internal teams, external partners and other stakeholders.
- participate in regular meetings to update stakeholders on supply chain project performance and other key initiatives.
internal & external relationships:
internal: sales, marketing, finance, it and scm for process mapping and new process implementation.
external: third party sc product vendors for evaluation and implementation, consultants and contractors.
skills & knowledge :
relevant experience:
- 3-4 years of proven experience in data analysis, preferably in the context of supply chain planning.
- quick learner with analytical bent of mind
- proficiency in data analysis tools such as sql, python, r, or similar languages.
- strong quantitative and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- expertise with data visualization tools especially power bi.
- excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- familiarity with erp systems and supply chain software is a plus.
- education qualifications: master's degree in business application/data sciences. bachelor's degree in engineering/mathematics/data science
