  • Maintain a high level of customer service as a primary point of contact in the service desk.
  • Maximise customer network performance by monitoring, troubleshooting problems and outages.

The role will require 4 days a week onsite with some in work hours travel between different sites in South Wales. You will be working alongside a great team of dedicated professionals and play a lead role in developing and implementing the wireless network strategy and roadmap. Key responsibilities

  • Act as a lead specialist in one or more data networking technical domains e.g. Wired, Wireless, LAN, WAN.
  • Jointly develop and implement the data network strategy and roadmap, aligning with the organisation board's vision and objectives.
  • Lead the lifecycle design, installation, configuration, testing, assurance, and optimization of the data network, ensuring high availability, performance, and security through to safe disposal.
  • Manage the data network operations, including monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
  • Plan specialist data networking projects which impact across clinical and non-clinical areas, including planning, organizing, leading, and controlling complex and multiple projects.

This role offers a competitive salary of 65,000 - 80,000 (Depending on experience, skills and qualifications ) a 7.5% bonus, along with blended working options after a six-month probationary period.

    My client, a leading name in the technology space, is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract. This is a key role supporting a complex enterprise environment, requiring strong technical knowledge across both networking and security domains.

    Location: Primarily remote, with occasional visits to data centres in Manchester, London, or Swindon. Shifts: Rotational shift work is required, including night shifts

    Required Skills & Experience:

    You don't need expertise in all technologies listed below, but strong skills in at least one or more of the following areas are essential:

    • F5 LTM (Local Traffic Manager)
    • Akamai CDN and security solutions
    • Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls & FortiManager
    • Juniper SRX Firewalls and Switches
    • Cisco ISE - for RADIUS and network access control
    • Cisco Nexus 7000 series Switches

    In addition, you'll bring:

    • Proven experience with Access Control Lists (ACLs), network segmentation, and perimeter security best practices
    • A solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, and core routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
    • Experience with high availability networking setups
    • Strong troubleshooting ability using packet capture and log analysis
    • Familiarity with tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, and other SNMP-based monitoring solutions

    IT Network Support Engineer - Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Network Support Engineer to assist us supporting and expanding our customers growing network infrastructure. As part of the infrastructure team, you will be working as a bridge point between our service desk, projects team and NOC. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diagnosing circuit and hardware issues, knowledge of TCP/IP networking including routing, firewalling and IPAM. The role will also expose the candidate to the deployment and management of Meraki SDWAN technologies but prior experience of this is not a requirement.

    IT Network Support Engineer - Key Responsibilities:

    • Network Support and Maintenance: Provide day-to-day support for enterprise network environments. Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain firewall, VPN, switching, Wi-Fi, LAN and WAN infrastructure.
    • Incident Management: Liaise with ISP service desk and internal service desk to diagnose, escalate and resolve networking issues with SLAs.
    • Deployment: Assist with projects team for hardware deployment and replacement.

    IT Network Support Engineer - Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • 2+ years of enterprise network engineer or administrator experience.
    • Problem-solving mindset.
    • In-depth understanding of TCP/IP networking.
    • Experience with configuration and diagnosing routers, firewalls, and switches.
    • Strong knowledge of VPN configuration and management.
    • Packet capture/Wireshark analysis.
    • Ability to communicate well with various teams within our organisation.

    IT Network Support Engineer - Desirable (Nice-to-Have) Skills:

    • Experience with Meraki infrastructure.
    • VPN meshing or SD-WAN experience.
    • BGP routing.
