Senior Cyber Architect

Job Summary:

Cyber Security Architect is responsible for guiding the design and implementation of secure solutions and services across our business and IT support areas. Driving the successful configuration and implementation of security solutions to reduce risk to an acceptable level. Duties also include providing support to internal and external teams to define and develop secure architecture and solutions for projects and business solutions. Conduct discovery sessions to gain the necessary background and review findings to ensure sustained compliance, remediation of control gaps, and escalation of possible critical issues to senior management. Cyber Security Architect also identifies areas of potential improvement for key processes and procedures and define strategies for achieving reductions in work effort and costs related to compliance efforts.

Additional responsibilities include working with various business owners in implementing, executing, and monitoring IT related logical access and IT operations controls using NIST, and other IT control frameworks. This role must have a broad range of security skills and knowledge and be capable of defining secure configurations and architecture requirements, following through with development and deployment to production.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Guiding, assessing and documenting design of secure solutions and services across Business & BT areas

  • Defining and implementing secure operations, communications, platform and application standards

Boeing is seeking an experienced Ground Software Manager to lead a team of approximately 25 contributors across multiple sites in developing next-generation ground systems. In this role, you will support the Senior Program Manager and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leader in advancing the IPT's vision, working closely with software engineering, systems engineering, and program management to deliver high-value capabilities. You will ensure compliance with Boeing Software Best Practices, Enterprise Software Engineering policies, and BDS requirements, while also supporting the Cost Account Manager and contributing to new proposals.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in the full software development lifecycle within the ground software ecosystem, excels in technical leadership, and is an engaging, motivating people manager. Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), CI/CD environments, automated testing, and quality scanning is essential. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, applying critical thinking, hands-on troubleshooting, and superior judgment to drive engineering excellence and team success. Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of software engineers and contribute to the design and development of state-of-the-art ground systems software solutions for complex, real-time, mission-critical systems.

  • Oversee software design, development, integration, testing, and deployment using tools like GitLab, Jira, and CI/CD best practices

  • Provide technical oversight throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and security standards

  • Oversee software system-level analyses to identify risks, issues, and opportunities, ensuring mitigation actions are integrated and deployed throughout the software lifecycle

  • Monitor and review software integration and testing (SWIT) completion, verification processes, and resolution of software issues

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • U.S. TS/SCI Security Clearance and program access prior to start

  • 10+ years of experience with software development for space systems and ground segments performing command, control, mission planning and data processing

  • 5+ years of experience as the technical leader of a software development or product deployment team

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps practices such as continuous integration and continuous deployment, configuration management, security analysis and cloud computing, preferably using AWS Cloud

  • Proficient in programming languages such as R, Python, Matlab, Java, C, or C++, with strong skills in object-oriented design, development, and microservices architecture

  • Experience applying Agile principles and experience operating in an Agile production environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience using collaboration tools such as GitLab or Atlassian

  • Model and analyze throughput, bandwidth, and timing for FPGA/Processor/Memory/PCBA interconnects.

  • Analyze and mitigate against radiation-induced upsets in digital logic and memory cells, and implement mitigation techniques such as error correction codes, cyclic redundancy checks, voting, redundancy, and radiation hardening to ensure high-reliability operation.

  • Decompose high-level system requirements into hardware, software, and firmware specifications.

  • Develop software in C/C++/Python for bare metal or RTOS implementations, as well as implementing device drivers and firmware for embedded systems.

    As a member of the team, you will lead the development and execution of new avionics architecture solutions for emerging and existing F-15 International and USAF programs. Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including network diagrams, data flow, and security protocols. Analyze existing network security configurations to identify gaps and weaknesses within the Zero Trust framework. Perform in-depth troubleshooting and resolve issues related to Zero Trust implementations. Provide recommendations for network optimization and security posture enhancement. Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures aligned with Zero Trust principles. Ensure compliance with industry standards, government regulations, and organizational security policies. Lead efforts to implement security controls and mechanisms required to maintain a Zero Trust environment. Serve as the primary subject matter expert on Zero Trust for both internal teams and external stakeholders. Work closely with IT, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure successful deployment and integration of Zero Trust strategies. Provide guidance and training to technical teams on Zero Trust methodologies and best practices. Qualifications Six (6) years of professional experience in technical requirements implementation Experience in analyzing, planning, and developing for complex, multi-tiered networks. Proficient in DoDAF and enterprise architecture tools like IBM's System Architect and similiar Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced certifications in cybersecurity, such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CEH. Specific certifications related to Zero Trust, network security, or cloud security (e.g., ZTX Specialist, CISA, AWS Certified Security) Advanced skills in network design and architecture, particularly in implementing Zero Trust models. Proficient in analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex network security issues. Strong documentation and technical writing skills, with the ability to create comprehensive security policies and procedures. Ability to architect and deploy a Zero Trust Architecture in a complex, multi-tiered network environment. Ability to analyze and improve existing network security frameworks to align with Zero Trust principles. Capability to lead cross-functional teams in the implementation of Zero Trust security measures. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively in a high-stakes security environment. In-depth understanding of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles and best practices. Extensive knowledge of network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and NAC. Strong familiarity with government and industry security standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, DoD directives). Understanding of encryption technologies, authentication mechanisms, and secure data transmission. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams. Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 10-20 pounds Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret level.
