general summary: middlesex community college seeks to fill part-time math faculty positions for in-person lecture beginning the fall 2025 semester. the college's part-time math faculty are knowledgeable and creative professionals who have a demonstrated commitment to working with the college's diverse students and community. the college is committed to hiring creative and knowledgeable individuals that have expertise in this area.

duties and responsibilities:

• provide instruction for a group of up to 28 students in a classroom
• ability to instruct in at least one of the following courses: statistics, math for liberal arts, and precalculus for business
• develop and use student-centered pedagogies
• develop and use assessment strategies that maximize the developmental learning process and measure student learning outcomes
• develop and apply instructional methods that engage students of varying learning styles and abilities
• develop and apply technology in and out of the classroom
• use blackboard learning management system to post syllabi, assignments, and grades
• fulfill terms of the faculty contract as set out in the agreement between the board of higher education and the massachusetts community college council/massachusetts teachers association

requirements:

minimum qualifications:

• master's degree in mathematics, mathematics education or closely related field
• classroom teaching of high school or college math courses
• demonstrated commitment to diversity, continuous professional improvement, developmental education, inclusive pedagogies and use of technology to support student learning
• willingness to work collegially with a diverse body of faculty and staff
• demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the role of the community college in higher education
• experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, veterans, and individuals with different academic preparation levels and varying physical and learning abilities.

salary range: the salary assigned will be determined by the dce collective bargaining agreement per credit salary chart.

location: lowell and/or bedford campus as needed
