essential duties and responsibilities

(including the following, however, additional duties may apply as required)

  • work in safe manner at all times
  • set-up and burn with fuel gas bevel cutting tip
  • set-up and burn structural shapes and 3 dimensional parts
  • set-up and perform oxygen piercing
  • set-up cnc programs for cutting operations
  • set-up, adjust and operate fuel gas and plasma functions
  • calculate the speeds required for different materials, tools and material thickness
  • adjust burning set up for minimal dross build up and part welding
  • verify correct quantity and cut quality of parts burned
  • perform 1st piece and random dimensional inspections with the aid of the shop order packet
  • work from drawings and use required measuring instruments and gauging devices to check progression or work and final product.
  • manage quality documentation as required by customer
  • be willing to take notes and ask questions as well as provide input to better processes
requirements:

education and experience

  • high school diploma or work equivalent
  • at least three years of experience operating a burn table

mathematical skills

ability to perform basic mathematical computations required. ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.


physical demands

the ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane, forklift or stand-up may be required. ability to lift to 50 lbs. when required. while performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
