responsibilities - assist in the design and development of conceptual design alternatives into contract plans, specifications, and construction estimates for highway, roadway bridge, interchange and draining projects
- assist in the design of ada compliant facilities, including sidewalks, shared-use paths and intersection curb ramps
- assist in the design and production of traffic control and staging plans and traffic, signing and striping plans
- assist in the production of engineering reports and other technical documents
- attend occasional field visits and meetings to gather data or assist in construction inspections
- create 2d and 3d design models with computer design software such as: autocad, openroads and autoturn
- work in coordination with h&h offices across the country to deliver projects that make roads safer
requirements: - bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- eit certification and prior internship experience (preferred)
- zero-three years of experience
- microstation v8i, bentley openroads experience (preferred)
- experience with ctdot and/or the ctdot highway design manual (preferred)
- strong math skills and proficiency in microsoft word, excel and powerpoint
- excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in cooperative team environments
