job summary

a quality programmer i supports the inspection process through the creation, execution, and refinement of digital inspection programs using tools such as cmms, laser scanners, and laser trackers. this entry-level role works under the guidance of more experienced programmers while developing the skills needed to independently write inspection programs, generate balloon drawings, and produce accurate inspection documentation. quality programmer i team members are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and integral to ensuring digital inspection processes align with customer and internal expectations.

essential duties and responsibilities

  • writes and modifies basic inspection programs for cmms, laser scanners, or laser trackers, with support from senior programmers.
  • runs digital inspections using appropriate metrology tools and software, ensuring complete and accurate results.
  • creates and updates balloon drawings and part or customer-specific inspection documentation.
  • investigates and supports on-machine probing and other shop-related inspection activities as needed.
  • collaborates closely with quality programmer ii/iii and the lead quality to ensure accuracy and alignment of inspection processes.
  • interprets engineering drawings and specifications to understand inspection requirements.
  • maintains organization and cleanliness of the programming/inspection area.
  • adheres to internal quality standards and safety protocols.

minimum qualifications

  • willingness to learn and grow technical skillsets in a digital inspection environment.
  • strong attention to detail and precision in work output.
  • basic understanding of cad, blueprint reading, or measurement principles.

preferred qualifications

  • prior experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
  • exposure to cmm, laser scanning, or digital inspection software platforms.
  • familiarity with creating balloon drawings and inspection documentation.

1st: 5:45am - 2:15 pm, 4:45am - 2:15pm, or 4:45am - 3:15pm
2nd: 2pm - 10pm or 3am - 1pm

compensation details: 20-33 hourly wage
