position summary:
the commercial glass estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial glazing projects. this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and effective communication with general contractors, architects, vendors, and internal teams.

key responsibilities:

• review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope.

• prepare accurate and timely estimates for commercial glass and glazing projects.

• obtain pricing from vendors and suppliers for materials and subcontracted services.

• collaborate with project managers and sales team to ensure competitive bids.

• communicate with contractors, architects, and clients throughout the bid process.

• maintain accurate records of bids, estimates, and project details.

• support handoff to project management once a job is awarded.

• qualifications:

  • previous experience in commercial glass, glazing, or construction estimating preferred.

  • strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.

  • knowledge of glass and glazing materials, installation methods, and industry standards a plus.

  • proficiency with microsoft office suite; estimating software experience preferred.

  • excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
