what you'll do

• lead and oversee daily accounting operations, including gl, a/p, a/r, payroll, and reconciliations
• direct preparation of financial statements, regulatory reports, and board-level financial data
• maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with gaap and credit union regulations
• support internal and external audits and exams
• guide the department with clear leadership and coaching
• collaborate with executive leadership on capital planning and strategic initiatives
• continuously improve financial systems and policies
• stay ahead of changes in accounting standards and industry regulations

what you bring

• bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (master's preferred)
• cpa preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
• deep knowledge of gaap, compliance, and financial reporting
• strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• proven ability to implement internal controls and lead high-performing teams
• a high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
