die estimator job description:
- analyze project specifications, cad data and gd&t requirements to determine the cost and timing of required tooling.
- gather information from vendors and suppliers as required.
- prepare and submit detailed proposals and quotations to the engineering department.
- work with engineering, production and sales teams to ensure die estimates are completed in a timely manner.
die estimator requirements:
- a deep understanding of tool and die design and build processes.
- ability to make detailed strip layouts.
- ability to interpret technical drawings, analyze project requirements and make informed cost estimations.
- strong math skills for calculations related to cost estimations.
- ability to clearly and effectively communicate with customers, engineers and production teams.
- 5 years estimating experience.
- 5 years experience in die design and/or die making.
