are you passionate about empowering students and leading impactful programs? under the visionary guidance of the dean of learner support, the trio director plays a pivotal role in transforming lives providing leadership for our trio student support services program.


in this dynamic role, you'll:


  • lead, hire, and mentor a dedicated team of professionals committed to student success
  • drive strategic staff development initiatives and foster a collaborative team culture
  • oversee records, budgets, student recruitment and orientation, and program expansion
  • ensure smooth operations and compliance, while building a vibrant, supportive learning environment

supervisory impact: you'll directly supervise program staff, guiding them to deliver outstanding support services and achieve shared goals.


responsibilities:


  • coordinate recruitment, identification, and selection of eligible students;
  • works with instructors and staff to design strategies for effective teaching and retention, especially for students with academic needs;
  • designs and establishes procedures for use of student management information system;
  • establishes effective working relationships among the program staff, faculty, student affairs, academic affairs, and program students;
  • works with the advisory board on project development and evaluation;
  • coordinates the hiring of coordinators, professional tutors, peer tutors;
  • administers the student support services program budget;
  • coordinates disbursement of sss supplemental grant money to eligible participants in conjunction with the office of financial aid;
  • supervises program staff;
  • reports to and acts as liaison with the u.s. department of education regarding the full range of program goals, objectives, and activities; and
  • participates in assessment of program activities.


requirements:


minimum qualifications:


  • master's degree in education or related field;
  • demonstrated experience with strategies and interventions for working with students;
  • five years' experience with students including both teaching and program management and administration; and
  • experience in relating with students, staff, faculty and administration.
