dick lavy trucking., is seeking an experienced driver recruiter for our headquarters in bradford, oh. the ideal candidate for this position is an energetic, self-motivated person with prior recruiting experience, as well as possessing strong computer and internet skills. the position is monday-friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
job duties:
recruiting tasks to include, but not limited to:
develop and execute recruiting plans in the fast paced transportation industry, as well as developing a pool of qualified candidates for advanced needs
actively search for prospective drivers online
research new ways of using the internet for recruitment and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting
utilize social and professional networking sites to build networks and identify qualified candidates
network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees
coordinate print advertising, professional organizations, and other position appropriate venues
post and manage online advertising campaigns
manage our website
manage the hiring process for new cdl-a drivers
manage inbound phone calls from interested cdl-a drivers
keep in close contact with operations to be aware of driver and staffing needs
prioritize hiring needs and focus attention in areas of greatest need
facilitate pre-employment paperwork requirements
assist with pre-employment background checks.
experience and qualifications:
several years of recruiting experience (transportation industry highly preferable)
solid working knowledge of microsoft programs, as well as qualcomm, and tenstreet
excellent verbal and written communication skills
working knowledge of human resource principles and practices
general knowledge of labor laws
