position overview:
the erp generalist is a project coordination, and systems support role that plays a critical part in the successful planning, execution, and adoption of erp initiatives. reporting to the systems manager, this position ensures projects are well-structured, documented, and delivered on time by coordinating tasks, tracking milestones, and maintaining communication between business users and technical teams. in addition, the erp generalist supports day-to-day erp operations, helping safeguard data integrity, managing user access, and assisting with system upgrades and reporting. this is a highly collaborative role that blends project management skills with erp expertise to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
project coordination & support:
- partner with the systems manager to define project scope, deliverables, timelines, and resources.
- create and maintain detailed project plans, including task sequencing and milestone tracking.
- monitor progress, report on kpis, and escalate risks or blockers to stakeholders as needed.
- prepare and maintain project documentation, including requirements, workflows, and lessons learned.
- provide day-to-day coordination support: schedule meetings, prepare materials, and track action items.
- assist with erp testing, validation, and deployment for upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.
- support training initiatives by preparing user guides, faqs, and delivering hands-on demonstrations.
- act as a liaison between technical teams and business users to ensure clarity, communication, and issue resolution.
erp system operations:
- oversee data validation and verification processes to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- provide guidance, best practices, and user support for erp and related systems.
- manage user access and permissions for erp and bi tools, maintaining compliance with security standards.
- collaborate with compliance teams to uphold data security and privacy policies.
- troubleshoot erp issues, assist with maintenance, and contribute to continuous system improvements.
- support reporting needs by helping users generate, schedule, and update reports.
- respond to erp-related support tickets and resolve issues in a timely manner.
in addition to the specific duties outlined, you may be required to perform other tasks and responsibilities as deemed necessary by your manager. these tasks will be relevant to your role and within the scope of your area of expertise.
qualifications:
- bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-2 years of experience with erp, crm, or wms systems (sage x3 experience a strong plus).
- strong organizational skills with proven ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- familiarity with project management methodologies (agile, waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
- experience with project tracking tools (e.g., jira, asana, ms project) preferred.
- at least 1 year in it helpdesk, customer support, or technical systems support.
- excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details into user-friendly terms.
