about the position edge is seeking a dynamic expedited carrier representative. as the expedited carrier rep, you will develop, maintain, and grow relationships between carriers and the company. responsibilities include quoting, coordinating, and controlling the movement of customer-supplied products with a focus on achieving high-quality standards and customer satisfaction.

key responsibilities:

• secure and manage capacity for expedited shipments, including sprinter vans, cargo vans, straight trucks, and box trucks.
• execute freight coverage with a high degree of urgency and accuracy; expected to cover 300+ loads per month.
• maintain and grow a reliable carrier base with a focus on speed, communication, and service quality. leverage existing portfolio to match freight with capacity quickly.
• understand and apply operational knowledge across expedite modes, including: sprinter vans, cargo vans, straight trucks (non-cdl and cdl), team and solo expedite drivers, and time-critical partial.s
• evaluate shipments based on equipment dimensions, weight limits, dot regulations, and required transit times to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• navigate and utilize mcleod (tms), and load boards to source and manage freight.
• use excel and internal tools to track, update, and communicate load and carrier performance metrics.
• proactively resolve coverage gaps, transit delays, or carrier service failures with a customer-first mindset.

requirements:

experience:

• minimum of 3+ years of experience in carrier sales, with a focus on expedited freight.
• proven book of business or network of expedite carriers.
• deep understanding of expedite modes, vehicle specs, dot regulations, and time-sensitive service requirements.
• experience using mcleod, excel, and digital freight tools.
• excellent communication, negotiation, and multitasking skills.
• strong sense of urgency and the ability to thrive under pressure.
• a collaborative mindset and interest in being part of a growing, team-oriented environment.
