primary purpose of the organizational unit:the center for youth, family, and community partnerships (cyfcp) builds the capacity of families, service providers, researchers, teachers, and communities to promote the well-being of children and youth. in partnership with colleagues from across the university and the community, the center carries out basic, applied, and action research; translates research into effective programs and practice; infuses community perspectives into university research and teaching; facilitates strategic problem-solving processes; and promotes programs, practices, and policies that yield positive outcomes for children and their families.
position summary:the family training coordinator will provide leadership and coordination for the training, credentialing, and technical assistance offerings within the family and youth support and education program. the types of peer training that will be offered include both formal and informal training opportunities that will be interactive and use best practices in adult education for both in-person and online training opportunities. the family training coordinator will work with their program team members to develop the trainings and certifications, and the trainings and certifications developed by the program staff for local and state partners will be in line with national certification and training standards (e.g., the national federation of families' national family peer specialist certification).
