job summary:
the hr specialist will support a range of core human resources functions, including employee support, regulatory compliance, compensation analysis, and organizational development. this role plays a key part in maintaining effective hr operations by advising on policies and procedures, resolving inquiries, and coordinating internal hr processes in an onsite office environment.
key responsibilities:
resolve employee and hr customer inquiries via phone and electronic channels across benefits, staffing, compensation, hris, leave, and employee & labor relations.
educate users on company policies and hr tools to encourage self-resolution.
handle daily phone calls using a call management system.
support managers and hr teams in executing consistent hr processes and procedures.
manage the full lifecycle of hr cases, including opening, tracking, escalating, and closing.
analyze information to develop solutions and provide accurate policy and system guidance.
refer complex cases to the appropriate hr specialist, center of expertise (coe), or hr business partner.
utilize hr knowledge base and recommend updates to hr portal content.
maintain contact with customers through resolution of each inquiry.
meet service-level agreements for response accuracy, professionalism, and timeliness.
maintain compliance by supporting employee records and legal documentation.
enhance hr operations through ownership, initiative, and ongoing contributions.
required experience:
minimum of 3 years of hr experience.
experience supporting a variety of stakeholders, including employees, hr staff, and retirees.
nice-to-have experience:
familiarity with hr case management systems and internal portals.
prior experience updating and maintaining hr knowledge bases or desktop procedures.

strong knowledge of hris, benefits, and leave administration
proficiency with microsoft word and excel
