we are seeking an experienced safety & human resources professional to join our team. as the human resources/safety/training coordinator you will have ownership of systems, programs and processes that facilitate a safety culture and drive high-performing teamwork. the role will collaborate with leadership to develop and implement programs for organizational improvement.


responsibilities

  • partner with talent acquisition specialist for recruiting, interviewing, and screening employee candidates.
  • assist employees by fielding questions, providing information, and helping to resolve issues in partnership with the people team.
  • ensures compliance with corporate policy, fair employment practices and applicable government regulations.
  • assist the people team by advising and training frontline supervisors on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity; sexual harassment; diversity, equity & inclusion; and other related corporate and legislative policies.
  • assist with investigations of employee relations issues to affect prompt and appropriate resolution.
  • coordinate with the people team in administering: new hire orientations, disciplinary/counseling actions, and exit interviews
  • provide current information and training to employees about company policies, job duties, opportunities, and employee benefits.
  • ensure employee documentation is completed and reaches corporate personnel files.
  • ensure all legal postings are accessible and posted according to legislative compliance.
  • broad knowledge of safety, training and development, employee relations, performance management, and organizational planning.
  • process root causes analysis and problem solving
  • ability to process risk assessments and build mitigation plans.
  • responsible for ensuring required safety and hr-related training and certifications are up to date, and administrative record-keeping is maintained appropriately.
  • maintain compliance with the company safety programs.
  • conduct regular safety inspections of all crews, facilities, and machinery to ensure proactive measures against safety risk (ex. lock out/tag out, field/machinery safety checklists)
  • maintain osha documentation including sds binders, 300 logs, etc.
  • coach and educate management and employees on safety & environmental health regulations.
  • partner with ehs to ensure all work accidents are investigated, post injury process is followed, and osha reporting is maintained.
  • site contact for safety & labor inspections; consults with senior leadership on course of action.
  • ensures compliance with all required health, safety, and environmental (hs&e) permits and regulatory obligations.
  • champions and oversees site-wide sustainability initiatives to drive environmental stewardship and continuous improvement.

education and/or experience

five years plus proven experience in human resources & safety administration

experience in a manufacturing environment


language skills

fluent in english. good writing, reading, and verbal skills
