jdi industrial services is the industrial maintenance division of j. davis inc., a family-owned organization providing construction, grading, supplemental maintenance, and industrial services to south carolina, georgia, and north carolina. with four divisions and three offices in the coastal and upstate regions of south carolina, we are proud to offer superior services to the southeastern united states. we are currently seeking an industrial project manager with an electrical background. this role is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with industrial clients to drive sales, ensure customer satisfaction, and achieve revenue targets. key responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and providing tailored solutions to meet clients' industrial project or service needs. familiarity with construction project management software is a plus but not required.
job duties & responsibilities:
  • build and maintain long-term relationships with existing industrial clients while prospecting for new accounts.
  • understand client needs and provide customized solutions, including projects, services, or technical support.
  • oversee the planning, execution, and completion of electrical projects. ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
  • supervise and assist with managing project budgets, including forecasting and controlling costs. monitor financial performance and implement measures to achieve profitability targets.
  • direct project team to execute project timelines, budgets, schedules, and coordinating workflow with team members
  • serve as the primary point of contact for clients. address client concerns, provide updates on project progress to leadership, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • resolve client issues or escalations promptly to maintain trust and satisfaction.
  • work with sales and marketing to deliver presentations, proposals, and reports to clients.
  • lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers, project engineers and superintendents. foster a positive and productive work environment, support professional development, and address any personnel issues.
  • review and fully understand contract terms with operations manager and owners (t&m, purchase order, etc.)
  • assist in obtaining all necessary permits / business licenses and bonding for projects.
  • ensures execution of project purchases of necessary materials.
  • buyout of all purchase orders and subcontracts 100% and find cost savings where ethically possible.
  • responsible for the production of a schedule of values and gaining approval from the operations manger
skills and qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with knowledge of construction, design, and cost management in an industrial maintenance, industrial process, facilities or equipment installation role
  • bachelor's degree in construction science & management or related field is preferred
  • familiarity with construction project management software is a plus, but not required
  • working knowledge of project estimating, planning, scheduling and budgeting
  • reading contract documents and p&id drawings
  • must be computer literate with a working knowledge of ms office applications
  • strong business ethics with regards to budgets, invoices and payments
  • strong written and verbal communication skills that align with core values
