summary of responsibilities:

keeps working areas in production and office departments of the industrial facility clean, safe, and orderly by performing janitorial duties and supporting general maintenance efforts in a heavy manufacturing/foundry environment.

essential duties and responsibilities:

  • clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and break areas.
  • sweep, mop, or dry floors, including production walkways and common areas.
  • clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, corridors, and other assigned areas.
  • wash walls, ceilings, windows, doors, and sills.
  • empty trash and recycling containers; transport waste to designated disposal or recycling areas.
  • replenish bathroom and breakroom supplies as needed.
  • maintain sidewalk safety during winter months, including snow removal and salting.
  • pick up refuse from plant grounds and maintain exterior cleanliness.
  • follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate ppe when working in or around production areas.
  • assist with light maintenance tasks or special cleaning projects as assigned.

  • able to function in routine, standardized work environments.

physical requirements:

  • frequently required to walk, stand, talk, and hear.
  • use of close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs; occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs.
  • must be able to work in hot, loud, and dusty environments typical of a foundry setting.

education and experience requirements:

  • high school diploma or ged preferred
  • good attendance record.
  • ability to follow baker manufacturing procedures and policies.
  • must possess or be able to obtain a valid forklift operator's license.
