position summary
we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented project engineer with a passion for site civil land development. this role will support a variety of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects under the guidance of a project manager (pm). you'll play a key role in advancing project objectives through technical design, permitting, coordination, and communication with clients, consultants, and public agencies.
key responsibilities
- prepare preliminary and final site development plans using autocad civil 3d
- analyze project data, including surveys, legal descriptions, and utility information
- develop engineering reports, technical studies, and calculations (e.g., drainage, grading, utilities, stormwater management)
- support preparation and submittal of permit applications to local and state agencies
- coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders
- monitor work for compliance with applicable codes and industry standards
- assist in preparing construction documents, cost estimates, and engineering opinions
- contribute to a collaborative team environment with clear and effective communication
qualifications
- bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or similar engineering degree) from an abet accredited university.
- eit certification or ability to obtain within 6 months required.
- desire and motivation to obtain pe preferred
- proficiency with autocad civil 3d; familiarity with watercad, stormcad, sewercad, or icpr4/stormwise a plus
- strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- ability to work effectively in a team setting and meet deadlines
