job description
the proposal strategist is responsible for developing the proposal plan, managing the rfp process, and leading proposal efforts to win work for the company. this role involves close collaboration with business development and project management teams to craft competitive and compelling proposals.
develop proposal plan, draft storyboards, define win strategy, assign proposal team roles, and create the initial proposal management plan
conduct pink team review and update materials based on feedback
lead go/no-go decision discussions and kickoff meetings
create graphics and visuals for proposals
oversee post-submittal activities, including interviews in the checkmate phase
create a negotiated contract outline and execute proposal services per checkmate protocols
support the development of key metrics such as change orders, safety, budget, schedule, diversity, and community impact
assist in project close-out deliverables
support award submissions (acec, enr) and industry publication entries
represent the company at professional associations, conferences, and trade shows; manage booth setup and preparation
perform other assigned duties
comply with all corporate policies and standards
required skills
bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or related field, plus 4 years of experience in marketing, business development, or sales within a professional services firm (a/e firm experience preferred), or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
excellent written and verbal communication skills
proficiency with adobe indesign strongly preferred
certified proposal management professional (apmp) preferred or equivalent
