• job title: shop technician

• schedule: 1st shift, monday-friday, 7:30am-5:30am
• position type: temp to hire

requirements and qualifications:
1. general knowledge of diesel, propane and gasoline engine repair
2. adhere to all dot regulations as they apply to bus maintenance and safety
3. knowledge of special needs safety equipment and proper repairs when needed
4. bus camera installation and maintenance
5. electrical knowledge of all bus equipment systems
6. possess and maintain a current cdl license with passenger, airbrake and school bus endorsements
7. must have own hand tools
8. able to be a substitute bus driver when needed
9. be able to lift heavy loads (up to 100 lbs.)
10. responsible for keeping a clean, neat work area

duties and responsibilities:
1. diagnosis and repair diesel, propane and gasoline engines
2. maintenance and repair of transmissions, suspensions, and exhaust systems
3. maintenance and repair of steering and electrical systems
4. repair wheelchair lifts
5. preventive maintenance for all vehicles
6. service calls / road rescues
7. this position assists with successful department of transportation (dot) inspection each year
8. this position assists with shop mechanic repairs
9. this position assists with maintains buses and type iii vehicles
10. this position assists with assists with ensuring the flow of work in the shop to be efficient and cost effective.
