Title:

Special Events Development Coordinator

Description:

the development associate, special events, will work with the director of development, staff, board members and volunteers to drive fundraising activity including but are not limited to large-scale special events, overall administrative support, and day-to-day database maintenance.

essential duties and responsibilities:

maintains the donor database and additional donor tracking systems.

assists the department with the administration and execution of all special events.

executes special event projects including raffles and vendor negotiations.

partners with the finance in maintaining and reconciling financial records.

collaborates with different agency departments and lay leaders to enhance all fundraising endeavors.

processes donations and prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence in a timely manner.

coordinates all elements of mailings and other communications.

assists with meeting administration and proposals.

all other duties as assigned.



qualifications:

experience with or interested in learning nonprofit fundraising.

bachelor's degree.

ability to quickly master our donor database system, prior database experience preferred.

proficient in ms office (excel, work, outlook, powerpoint) and donor software such as classy and givesmart.

ability to work occasional evenings and weekend hours including but not limited to committee meetings, and special events.

ability to multi-task and prioritize work items.

strong attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude.

pysical requirements:

able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.

able to walk, stand, and move around event spaces as needed.

occasionally lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds (e.g., event supplies, boxes).

use hands to type, write, and handle event materials.

able to see clearly to read documents and work on a screen.

must be able to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and via email.

ability to travel locally for events or meetings as needed.

work environment:

primarily works in an office setting with moderate noise levels.

regular work at event locations, which may be indoors or outdoors.

some evenings and weekends required for special events and meetings.

frequent interaction with staff, volunteers, donors, and vendors.

regular use of computers, phones, printers, and event tools or supplies.
