the senior director, emergency services is responsible for leading and overseeing clinical operations within emergency services, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals. this role provides strategic and operational leadership, manages resources, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize clinical services, patient outcomes, and staff development.
essential functions
- leads clinical operations for emergency services, establishing and implementing policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent and quality patient care.
- develops and executes strategic initiatives to support growth, resource optimization, and alignment with organizational goals.
- collaborates with clinical and administrative leadership to monitor performance metrics, implement quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- provides leadership and direction to clinical management and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- ensures staff training, competency, and professional development are aligned with clinical standards and organizational objectives.
- oversees patient safety and risk management initiatives within the department, addressing issues proactively and ensuring a safe care environment.
- performs other duties as assigned.
- complies with all policies and standards.
qualifications - bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field required
- 8-10 years of experience in clinical management, with significant experience in a senior leadership role within a specialized service line (e.g., emergency, surgical) required
- 4-6 years of experience in management in a large tertiary facility or market required
- experience in leading successful performance improvement efforts in an acute care setting required
