key responsibilities:

  • design and develop control systems and logic for machinery, robotics, industrial equipment, or automation systems.
  • create detailed control schematics and wiring diagrams using cad software, demonstrating a solid working knowledge of autocad.
  • develop and test plc, hmi, and/or scada programs using platforms such as allen-bradley, siemens, and schneider electric.
  • select appropriate sensors, actuators, drives, and control components for each application.
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system.
  • perform system simulations, risk assessments, and failure mode analysis to validate control strategies.
  • support factory acceptance testing (fat), commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems remotely or on-site as needed.
  • ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., iec, ul, nfpa 79, iso 13849, nec, ul508a) and customer specifications.
  • document design specifications, user manuals, technical drawings, and test procedures.
  • maintain customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle and provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for installed systems.
  • provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and technicians as needed.

requirements:

qualifications:

  • a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, control systems, mechatronics, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial controls (end-user or oem), or a system integration/consulting role as a controls engineer.
  • solid working knowledge of autocad for creating electrical schematics and control panel designs.
  • understanding of plc/hmi programming (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) with platforms such as allen-bradley (rockwell automation), siemens, or schneider electric.
  • experience with scada systems (e.g., ignition by inductive automation, aveva wonderware, ge ifix, rockwell automation factorytalk view) is desirable.
  • familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., modbus, ethernet/ip, profinet) and networking devices.
  • strong understanding of industrial automation equipment and troubleshooting skills.
  • ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and industry standards.
  • excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • ability and willingness to travel as needed for site commissioning and customer support.

desired skills and experience:

  • working knowledge of nfpa 70, 70e, ul1008, ul508a, and ieee standards.
  • experience with autocad electrical.
  • experience in the food & beverage industries, navy facilities.

required:

  • able to pass a background check.
  • able to pass a drug screen for federal contractor requirements.
  • hold a valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • able to clear security checks needed to conduct work on federal bases and other government property.
  • able to meet the physical requirements of the position, to include but not limited to lifting to 25 lbs., bending, squatting, standing for extended periods of time, and working in various environments that may include noisier conditions at times.
