job summary:

seeking a qualified clinical laboratory technologist with blood bank experience to fill a critical staffing shortage. the technologist will perform complex testing, analysis, and reporting on blood and related specimens to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment within the blood bank.

key responsibilities:

• perform blood bank testing and analysis following established procedures and quality control standards.
• ensure accuracy in specimen identification, test results, and documentation.
• interpret test results and communicate findings clearly to physicians and healthcare providers.
• maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment as needed.
• adhere to all regulatory guidelines, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
• work effectively during overnight shifts and alternating weekends.

requirements: minimum 1 year of experience as a clinical laboratory technologist in a blood bank setting. bachelor of science degree or equivalent education and experience in a relevant field. valid clinical laboratory technologist license (092) issued by nysed - primary source verification required. bls certification preferred.
