overview:
humanedge health is seeking an experienced travel histotechnologist to join a busy pathology laboratory in atlanta, ga. the technologist will perform histology procedures including processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissue specimens in support of surgical pathology, cytology, and immunohistochemistry (ihc).

responsibilities:

• receive and accession specimens in cerner emr

• collect blocks from pa staff and process tissue

• embed, cut, and stain slides for pathology review

• perform procedures in pathology, cytology, and ihc as required

• maintain quality control and compliance with laboratory standards

qualifications:

• minimum of 2 years of experience as a histotechnologist in a pathology laboratory

• ascp (ht/hlt) certification required

• completion of a formal histology training program or an associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences

• experience with pathology, cytology, and ihc preferred

• proficiency with cerner emr
