Responsibilities The Virtual Medical Assistant (VMA) will provide remote clinical and administrative support to physician practices and care teams across the United States. This role is designed for high-performing, detail-oriented professionals who thrive in structured, performance-driven environments and are committed to delivering excellence in healthcare operations. Manage electronic health record (EHR) documentation, including chart preparation, encounter updates, and data entry with high accuracyProvide medical scribing and transcription support (live or asynchronous)Process e-prescriptions under provider supervision and ensure timely documentationReview, organize, and flag laboratory results for provider actionSupport prior authorizations, referrals, and care coordination workflowsManage telephone encounters and patient communication tasks in alignment with practice protocolsAssist with Chronic Care Management (CCM) and preventive care outreach activitiesSupport quality gap closure initiatives and value-based care documentation requirementsMaintain strict adherence to HIPAA, data security, and patient confidentiality standardsMeet defined daily productivity benchmarks and turnaround time targetsMaintain individual productivity tracking sheets and ensure accurate reportingParticipate in ongoing quality audits and maintain consistent audit scores above established thresholdsFollow standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and continuously improve workflow efficiencyProactively identify bottlenecks, escalate issues, and recommend process improvementsDemonstrate accountability, ownership, and reliability in all assigned tasksCollaborate effectively with providers, care coordinators, and internal team members across time zones Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Healthcare (BDS, BAMS, Medicine), Nursing or Life Sciences1-3 years of experience supporting U.S. healthcare practices (medical assistant, scribe, billing specialist, care coordinator, or similar role)Working knowledge of U.S. healthcare terminology, documentation standards, and workflowsExperience working with EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Epic, or similar platformsStrong written and verbal English communication skillsStrong willingness to explore and adopt new technologiesHigh-speed internet connection and professional remote work environment
