Position - Proposal Writer

Location - Chennai (Onsite)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Proposal Writer to join our team. This middle-level position is ideal for individuals having minimum 2 years' experience with strong writing skills and a desire to grow within the field of business development and proposal writing, particularly in the Information Technology (IT) sector.

The Proposal Writer will assist in the development of compelling and compliant proposals in response to requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), and other business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal Support:

  1. Assist in the development and preparation of proposals, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
  2. Support the creation of outlines, compliance matrices, and proposal schedules.

Content Writing and Editing:

  1. Write and edit sections of proposals, including company overviews, project descriptions, resumes, and other non-technical content.
  2. Ensure all written materials are clear, concise, and free of errors.

Collaboration:

  1. Work closely with proposal leads or senior proposal writers, business development teams, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather necessary information.
  2. Participate in proposal kick-off meetings and brainstorming sessions.

Research and Analysis:

  1. Conduct research on client organizations, industry trends, and competitors to support proposal development.
  2. Assist in identifying and analyzing RFP/RFI requirements to ensure compliance.

Content Management:

  1. Maintain and update a repository of proposal templates, case studies, and boilerplate content.
  2. Organize and track proposal documents and ensure version control.

Administrative Tasks:

  1. Assist with formatting, proofreading, and assembling final proposal documents.
  2. Coordinate printing, packaging, and submission of proposals, as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  2. Prior experience of technical writing, and business writing in proposal development is required.

Writing and Communication:

  1. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with keen attention to detail.
  2. Ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely, tailoring content for specific audiences.

Organizational Skills:

  1. Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  2. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Technical Knowledge:

  1. Basic understanding of IT services or a willingness to learn about technical concepts.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Teamwork and Collaboration:

  1. Ability to work collaboratively with team members and accept constructive feedback.
  2. Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow in the proposal development process.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Familiarity with proposal management tools (e.g., RFPIO, Loopio) is a bonus.
  2. Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign) is advantageous.
  3. Having some understanding of project management is excellent.

Senior Proposal Writer

Senior Technical Proposal Writer (US Shift timing, past experience in US IT Consulting / Staff Augmentation), only Mumbai office onsite job.)

Time: U.S. Shift timings - 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM EST (6pm-3pm IST) Minimum 8 hrs per day.

Work Experience: - Min 5+ years

Location: Vikhroli, Mumbai (India)

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Researching, writing, and organizing proposals in a professional and credible manner for Federal and State departments / offices in the U.S. market.
  • Disseminate technical information in easy-to-understand language for a non-technical audience and have technical accuracy in writing user documentation.
  • Research companies, non-profits, RFPs, RFQs and grants and write documents that help with business development.
  • Identify price or cost parameters, determine the number and frequency of deliverables, examine contract length and level of effort, look for special conditions or notices, and understand the method of evaluation for responses.
  • Ability to take existing and potential content and improve it and help with reviewing products, services, and project ideas.
  • Help create strategies that help with the proposal development and rewrite proposals according to feedback.
  • Reviewing services, and/or business ideas, creating strategies, identifying opportunities for proposal writing and perform significant research on their clients in order to develop compelling proposals with high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of various writing, design, and editing tools to develop aesthetically attractive and professional proposals for all types of clients including the government sector.
  • Candidate must have US Govt contract writing experience (Federal, State, Local) Mandatory.
  • Well, acquainted with the elements and features of complex proposals for state and federal contracts and be a strong voice in how to best position company for those opportunities.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain content to build custom and compliant sales proposals which include responses to RFPs/RFIs/RFQs and proactive sales proposals.
  • Ability to conduct interviews and information gathering sessions with various technical subject matter experts and convert data to proposal quality technical response approaches in an iterative manner.
  • Analyze RFP requirements, assemble an appropriate response team, allocate team resources, delegating responsibilities to ensure that the response is submitted by the deadline
  • Edits proposal language to ensure incorporation of strategic themes as well as compliance with proposal requirements and RFP requirements.

Must have worked in US shift timings. Mandatory.

Must have worked with US IT Consulting and Staff Augmentation companies. Mandatory.

Candidate must be based out of Mumbai. Mandatory.

Candidate must have worked with US Federal and State Govt. clients. Mandatory.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in writing technical documentation for consulting / staff augmentation businesses in the U.S. market
  • Understand and explain complex technical concepts with strong research and analytical skills.
  • End to end sourcing, screening, preparing go, no-go strategies in consultation with the management team
  • Preparing & making technical presentation to the clients, whenever required
  • Strong working knowledge on writing proposals and preparing bids for the IT sector in U.S market especially in the Federal and State government space.
  • Ability to undertake multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlines.
  • Excellent technical writing skills with good verbal communication.
  • Should be detail-oriented to understand and write clear and concise proposals.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • An understanding of the IT sales process with experience in the IT industry proposal writing.
