Your Responsibilities:

  • Support the project team in the delivery of exemplary buildings.

An established engineering consultancy with a strong presence in Central Scotland is looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join their team based in Glasgow. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who is nearing chartership and looking to take a step up into a project-leading role.

The Role

You will play a key role in delivering a broad range of building structure projects, particularly within the residential and education sectors. Working closely with clients and internal teams, you will be the lead point of contact on assigned projects overseeing structural design, coordination, and delivery from concept to completion.

This role would suit an individual who is already operating at Senior Engineer level, or an experienced Engineer looking to progress into that space by autumn. You'll be joining a specialist team with strong timber engineering expertise, allowing for diverse and innovative project work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural design projects across residential and educational sectors
  • Act as the main client point of contact
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to junior team members
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including architects and contractors
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and to quality standards
  • Support and progress towards chartership (if not yet achieved)

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Proven experience in building structures (residential, education, etc.)
  • Strong technical ability in structural design
