Product Support Engineer

This manufacturer of automated laser gauging and measurement systems wishes to appoint a support engineer to provide technical support, ppm and break-fix and commissioning to their manufacturing client base.

Full product training is offered. N.B.The role involves approximately 60% short duration travel (5/6 days) to mostly Western Europe customers. Significant time off in lieu of travel is offered to allow you to recharge your batteries (in addition to a generous travel allowance and company credit card). Travel is scheduled 6-8 weeks in advance (no emergency call out). When in the Uk hybrid working is allowed however access to their Worcestershire site is required.

The ideal candidate will be qualified in an electrical or electro-mechanical discipline and have experience of machinery operating in a high volume manufacturing environment (some understanding of controls (ideally).

The typical development pathway within the role is to train you to become a SPECIALIST in at least one of their major products.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required: Previous experience of technical support or engineering role. Extensive working knowledge of product. Solid understanding of real-life vehicle operation. Technical qualification in an electrical or mechanical field. Proactive and possession of strong interpersonal and research skills. Flexible attitude, with willingness to travel where required. Competent to produce professional looking documentation where required. Ability to work on your own initiative and be self-motivated. The Role:

The individual will help our teams deliver high quality audits by performing targeted reviews on our public interest entities (PIEs), challenging audits throughout the audit cycle, providing coaching and support to promote consistent high quality audits. You'll also:

  • Perform in-flight reviews of audits at every stage from planning through to completion and reporting, identifying ways to improve audit quality
  • Determine areas of focus for reviews, liaising with the QRST Director to agree approach
  • Proactively discuss audit quality matters with teams and help develop strategies to deliver high audit quality audits
  • Challenge the execution of audit procedures and documentation of audit work performed
  • Support and coach teams to implement identified improvements in audit quality
  • Identify issues and matters where firm-wide action may be required, in conjunction with the Director of the QRST
  • Contribute to the development of training and guidance on performing high quality audits
  • Provide clear and practical solutions to ad hoc audit quality queries

You'll be someone with:

From performing independent quality reviews on a selection of our listed and PIE audits, to being on-hand to help with complex enquiries, QRST is tasked with helping our team meet their reporting requirements and consistently deliver high quality audits. You'll help deliver accurate and transparent reporting to all relevant stakeholders as you provide long term value.

We're looking for a Senior Manager with Financial Services experience to work within its Quality Review & Support team .

The individual will help our teams deliver high quality audits by performing targeted reviews on our public interest entities (PIEs), challenging audits throughout the audit cycle, providing coaching and support to promote consistent high quality audits. You'll also:

  • Perform in-flight reviews of audits at every stage from planning through to completion and reporting, identifying ways to improve audit quality
  • Determine areas of focus for reviews, liaising with the QRST Director to agree approach
  • Proactively discuss audit quality matters with teams and help develop strategies to deliver high audit quality audits
  • Challenge the execution of audit procedures and documentation of audit work performed
  • Support and coach teams to implement identified improvements in audit quality
  • Identify issues and matters where firm-wide action may be required, in conjunction with the Director of the QRST
  • Contribute to the development of training and guidance on performing high quality audits
  • Provide clear and practical solutions to ad hoc audit quality queries
  • Get the opportunity to contribute to the wider audit quality agenda by getting involved in a variety of audit quality initiatives lead by the wider Audit Quality Improvement team

You'll be someone with:

  • A Keen interest in Audit Quality
  • Excellent practical and technical auditing experience particularly on more complex audits
  • Good working knowledge of IFRS
  • Ability and willingness to assertively challenge and influence more senior individuals and peers
  • Ability to think innovatively and creatively to identify ways to improve audit quality

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Effective project management
  • Desirable: Experience of performing audit quality reviews (pre or post audit opinion)

  • Proactively monitor the availability, performance, and security of TPCMS as part of a 24x7 team.
  • Address TPCMS issues either by resolving the issue or assigning to internal staff (engineers) or external providers (such as suppliers of equipment) to resolution.
  • Proactively engage with all members of the System Management Team to support a continuous improvement program for TPCMS and the service provided with the customer.
  • Ensure all Service Level Agreement targets are exceeded.
  • Support the transition of the TPCMS service to other parties by supporting the development and training needs of individuals.

Reporting to the HR Systems Manager, you will actively support the HCM Oracle system and the business with analysis, troubleshooting, testing, implementing improvements, maintenance, and upgrades. The role will also focus on coaching end users to develop expertise and drive process excellence and serve as first line support for all HR System queries.

What you'll do:

First Line Support

  • First line support, serving as the initial contact point for HR system queries through the HR helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Pro-actively responding to queries, providing accurate information, and resolving issues in a timely manner within service level agreement or escalating to HR Systems Manager when needed.
  • Ensuring excellent customer experiences while assisting to and addressing user concerns.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

  • Investigating and troubleshooting technical issues relating to the HR System; collaborating with relevant teams to identify root causes of issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Providing testing and functionality support; assisting in making changes, ensuring that any updates are implemented correctly, using thorough testing, ensuring that key processes and workflows continue to function effectively and provide required improvements following updates.
  • Support end-to-end testing of new functionalities and processes including planned patch releases, across all HCM modules and integrations. Work closely with stakeholders to test and validate system updates are in working order.
  • Support with the preparation and implementation of mass system data uploads, working with business areas to help upload bulk changes in an efficient manner.

Training, Education and Documentation:

  • Create, maintain, and update training materials and process maps, ensuring they are accurate and up to date and aid in user understanding and adoption.
  • Conduct training sessions for colleagues and other departments on new functionalities and conduct refresher sessions as needed.
  • Ensure documentation and user guides are kept up to date following issue resolution, system fixes and planned changes and that relevant users are notified of updates.
  • Assist in change management activities related to system updates.
  • Act as a systems team champion for oracle guided learning guides especially focusing on employee, manager, reporting guides.
  • Act as expert to support and resolve simple system related issues and share knowledge with HR colleagues to empower them in future to resolve these themselves.
  • Act as expert to support, share knowledge and empower HR colleagues to get the best from the HR System and be self- sufficient.

Change Management and Project Support:

  • Participate in change management initiatives aiding in the successful adoption of new processes and functionalities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, providing insights and suggestions for enhancing system functionality and user experience working closely with HR System Champions across the company.
  • Fulfilling any 'super-user' input such as minor changes to organisation structure, screen design and data types as permittable which have been identified through Continuous Improvement Forum or have been raised as enhancement.
  • Provide valuable feedback on system performance, user experience, and potential improvements.
  • Working together with Systems Manager and Compliance team to identify and create systems data retention policy and deletion concept.
  • Support in the creation and maintenance of ad-hoc reports for end users.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous HR System experience, specifically Oracle Cloud Applications (Oracle Human Capital Management / Oracle HCM / Oracle Fusion HCM application modules).
  • Experience in writing test scripts, managing testing processes, reporting on test outcomes and UAT completion.
  • Creating reports in Oracle HCM
  • Experience in a similar role providing 1st line support on issues relating to systems
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of software particularly comfortable using Excel to intermediate/advance level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with users, understand issues, and provide clear solutions.
  • Analytical skills to diagnose and resolve system issues effectively.
