Peraton is seeking experienced Communications System SME to join our talented team of technical and business experts providing key operational and mission support to a SI/SETA mission for a customer in Virginia.

The Communications SME will play a crucial role within various subject areas and communications governance process and structure. The ideal Communications SME candidate will possess expertise in Wireless, RF, Network, terrestrial and/or satellite radio technologies.

Our unique team of technical and business disciplines provide operational support for Systems Engineering and Integration, Mission Planning, and Business Operations to multiple functional mission areas. The team is responsible for the technical design, operations, and mission planning and business operations for the full life cycle of customer specific operations (from concept through development and installation/O&M).

In this role, the Communications SME will act as a Technical Advisor/Consultant to critical SI/SETA activities and serve as a primary interface between the Program customers/stakeholders, the technical development team, and end users. They will ensure robust requirements definitions, execution and development processes, solutions as well as support testing/training in advance of the deployment of technical capabilities. They will be expected to support multiple efforts and will assist the customer in making informed decisions related to requirements and developments. They will also assist with the deployment of technical capabilities while serving as a focal point to balance various equities and operational considerations.

The Communications SME will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

    Provide policy, guidance, and resource advocacy on technical, operational and analysis support.
  • Have a solid understanding within one or more of the following subject areas: aircraft and/or maritime communications, core networks, fiber optics, radio frequency, satellites, wireless telecommunications networks and infrastructure.
  • Analyze extremely complex problems and develop highly innovative solutions while engaging in onsite project coordination with technical leads, advise on impacts and mitigation approaches and solving mission critical challenges and/or issues against pacing threats from foreign entities.
  • Have a strong expertise in drafting, reviewing and briefing, customers and other stake holders, as required.
  • Promote synchronization and synergies across multiple projects.
  • Provides or lead in-depth analyses for translating customer unified capabilities needs into the support and new developments.
  • Directs, designs and develops plans, security, reliability and business continuity plans, integration plans and interoperability plans for the classified customer.
  • Lead and manage project teams and initiatives.

This role requires the candidate to perform duties on-site Mon-Fri. May require up to 25% travel, based on customer needs

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • An active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or any relevant technical field and eight (8) years of relevant experience; or a masters degree and six (6) years of relevant experience; or a PhD and three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 10+ years of experience within the areas of aircraft and/or maritime, core networks, fiber optics, radio frequency, satellites, wireless telecommunications networks and infrastructure for a government customer; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work experience.
  • A minimum of two (2+) years of experience providing services for an engineering-related mission involving either cyber operations, communications, supply chain expertise, military asset tracking, and/or deep-sea communications support.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2+) cumulative years of regional experience.
  • Must have strong written, communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to prepare and brief complex technical and non-technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Be a self-starter who will take initiative for helping manage key parts of complex technical developments.
  • Possess a desire and ability to work on multiple fast-paced projects and be willing and able to aggressively learn the activities and focus of the organization.
  • Must be comfortable working in a dynamic team environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or higher in a related technical discipline is highly desired.
  • Experience working in customer environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Customer's processes and procedures to minimize the learning curve for project/task navigation.
  • Demonstrated effective client management skills to include experience managing across offices and organizations.
  • Relevant Cultural and language competency is highly desired.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Communications and Networking Systems Engineer to join our team! This engineer will play a critical role in designing and delivering mission-focused, tactical networking and communications systems. We are looking for a thought leader who understands military tactical communications from both an operational and theoretical perspective, and who is passionate about solving complex real-world problems through innovative system design and integration.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leads system architecture, design, and development of tactical communications and networking systems from concept through deployment and sustainment.

  • Translates operational mission needs into technical requirements and scalable, fieldable system solutions.

  • Authors and reviews documentation such as interface control documents (ICDs), specifications, system descriptions, and test plans.

  • Designs and implements secure, resilient networking architectures that may include mesh, MANET, SATCOM, LOS/NLOS, and RF-based solutions.

  • Analyzes and integrates physical layer technologies including waveforms, modulation schemes, error correction, and compression techniques to optimize performance in constrained and contested tactical environments.

  • Evaluates and integrates emerging technologies, including SDRs, 5G, and edge compute, to enhance system capabilities.

  • Participates in and leads Analysis of Alternatives, CONOPS development, and Technology Readiness Assessments.

  • Collaborates closely with internal engineers, government stakeholders, and external partners to ensure alignment with mission needs and technical feasibility.

  • Mentors junior engineers and contributes to the growth and technical direction of the program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in tactical communications, military networking, and/or systems engineering.

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline. A Bachelor's degree with highly relevant experience may be considered.

  • Deep understanding of tactical networking architectures and protocols (e.g., IP/RF convergence, SATCOM, MANET, Link-16, SINCGARS, TSM, WINT-T).

  • Strong knowledge of Layer 1-3 networking, including routing/switching, waveforms, RF propagation, and secure communications protocols.

  • Demonstrated experience designing or integrating mission-critical communication systems for DOD or IC programs.

  • Familiarity with tools such as DOORS, SysML/UML, or Model-Based Systems Engineering practices.

  • Experience producing high-quality, customer-facing technical documentation and participating in design reviews.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Top Secret clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI clearance preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with fielded communications systems in operational settings (e.g., military exercises, deployed environments).

  • Background in RF systems, SDR platforms, or waveform design and integration.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to take initiative, drive technical strategy, and lead through ambiguity.

SAIC is seeking a Senior Communications Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory (SETA) services to our Government customer in a dynamic System Program Office (SPO) at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). This position supports space and ground communication networks for multiple satellite systems, that are currently in development and on orbit. It provides subject matter expertise to an evolving communications infrastructure and requires close collaboration with developers. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate enterprise-level designs and program integration solutions and provide recommendations.

  • Attend Enterprise, System, Subsystem and Segment level design reviews and program management reviews; assess design maturity, requirements compliance and provide informed technical recommendations.

  • Perform independent reviews of contractor designs to verify satisfaction of mission needs (Requirements, CONOPs, constraints, etc).

NATURE OF WORK This position is responsible for managing the District's radios and wireless communications systems for voice and data used to conduct public safety communications and other business within the District and outside agencies. Job scope spans managing communications technology, contracts, planning, projects, budgets, and customer relations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Radio system administration inclusive analytics, testing, inspection, security, and interoperability. Ensures 24/7/365 system support and 99.999% system reliability for users. Functions as radio system and services liaison. Recommends policy and procedure changes specific to radio use and configuration. Participates in, advises and consults with the Metropolitan Area Radio Committee (MARC) on radio system and equipment issues, policies, documentation, and communications requirements in all aspects. Participates in the North Central Region (NCR) and the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) combined meetings, and exchanges inclusive relevant exercises. Provides technical support. Works with radio technicians on H/W, S/W, and firmware assessments and problems resolution; inclusive working with the West Metro IT Department on station fire alerting systems monitoring and evaluations at individual stations and at the systems level. Ensures monthly testing and evaluation of station fire alerting system(s) in coordination with I.T to ensure operational needs are met and system issues addressed in a timely fashion. Collects and documents requirements for radio, LTE, and other communication technologies and translates these into functional specifications and detailed test plans. Tests newly purchased equipment for conformance to specifications and proper functionality. Coordinates with staff to identify, prioritize, and plan for communications needs and improvements. Sets goals for levels of service related to the radio network infrastructure for conformance to specifications, and proper operation and calibration. Serves as a representative of the District and makes technical recommendations through coordination with local, county, state, and federal agencies on public safety radio communications issues. Prepares statements of work and scopes of work for communications/radio IGAs, MOUs, and related documentation. Manages District tower assets, balancing District current and future needs with commercial leasing opportunities. Tracks current systems, subscriber equipment, software, and radio applications to identify short-term and long-term capital needs. Ensures proper repair of subscriber equipment, related radio communication equipment, Dave Clark headsets, and other electronics as directed. Ensures overall alignment within organizational needs. Researches new technologies to leverage original and innovative solutions for stakeholders. Become knowledgeable in radio system cyber security threats, threat preparedness and mitigation planning, system monitoring, and radio system reconstruction procedures. Responsible for radio system testing (uplinks and downlinks) in coordination with Life Safety and Lakewood radio technicians on all BDA and DAS systems. Promotes improvements to testing procedures and policies. Contributes to development of feasibility analysis to project's scope. Contributes to budgeting requirements for tasks and projects. Position Description:

Evaluate potential hardware solutions for meeting system requirements and evaluate test results for objective accomplishment. Responsible for program development/design, testing, and documentation.

Key activities:

Provide tactical communications systems and tactical data link engineering support for all relative communication systems. Conduct independent technical analysis, evaluation, and assessment of communications networks/hardware/systems for requirement compliance, interoperability, obsolescence mitigation and Defense planning. Assist in development of integrated test plans, participate in, and document test events. Support Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside of Continental United States (OCONUS) technical meetings, program reviews, working groups and events. Combine efforts with the PGSE to provide technical support to the Security Assistance Management Directorate (SAMD) for communications related Foreign Military Sales (FMS) activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • U.S. Citizen with active Secret security clearance or with the ability to obtain and maintain one

The UMKC Department of Information Services is seeking a Telecom Engineer who is team-oriented and known for their attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to take initiative.

Located in the UMKC's Flarsheim Hall, this individual will be responsible for working with fellow Telecom team members to install, inspect and maintain in-building communications facilities to include copper, coaxial, fiber optic, paging facilities and telecommunications room hardware. This individual will also provide technical expertise on communications equipment purchases, placement, configuration, operation, and maintenance.

Successful applicants will be organized, patient individuals, who can remain calm, and problem solve in fast-paced situations. This individual will be expected to provide exceptional customer service to our faculty, staff, students, and community. Work performed is often time sensitive, therefore multitasking skills are important. Duties include but are not limited to:

Oversee the installation and repair of all University-owned communications cabling infrastructure. Installations include all in-building and underground plant distribution systems comprised of copper, coaxial and fiber optic facilities.

Provide engineering expertise for outside plant services and obtain assistance from outside engineering experts when necessary. Make recommendations and present proposals/estimates for infrastructure improvements or expansion. Provide Campus Facilities with in-building wiring designs and estimates for campus projects.

  • Manage contracts for outside plant services by maintaining status and re-bidding as needed. Aid departmental staff in resolving outside plant issues,
  • Manage all duties related to maintaining reliable operations of critical Telecom owned/operated systems to include equipment room HVAC, fire suppression, physical security of facilities and maintaining the operations of the division's emergency generators.
  • Install, terminate, test and repair wiring, equipment, and peripherals for switched and non-switched services (voice, data, and video).
  • Install telecommunications systems, equipment, and peripherals.
  • Supervise and inspect the work of Telecom Technicians to ensure quality control.
  • Serves as backup to the department manager.
  • Interpret written and verbal requests, coordinate work with customers and complete all required documentation.
  • Perform "on-call" duties when required (outside of normal operating hours).
  • Use desktop software, including internally developed software, Microsoft Office, e-mail, and telecommunications system interface/configuration software.
  • Perform programming and repair operations on the campus telephone and emergency alert/phone systems.
  • Perform mechanical and fusion splicing operations on campus fiber optics (inside and outside).
  • Renovate existing and construct new telecommunication rooms.
  • This position is responsible for locating all university telecommunications infrastructure/outside plant as part of the Missouri one call program.
  • This employee is responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of campus security camera systems.
Minimum Qualifications
