Your role and responsibilities

This role is for an analog/mixed-signal integrated circuit designer who will contribute to the development of advanced high-performance circuits in advanced nodes for exploratory applications. We focus on circuit designs targeting the development of differentiated solutions for a range of communication and computation challenges, including the creation of CMOS-based electronics for quantum computing applications.   • EDA: A thorough knowledge of the Cadence IC design framework, (2 years).

We are working on the CPU design in Folsom. The team in Folsom has the frontend team working on ucode, RTL and validation. We also have a backend team working on circuit design, structural design, low power design. Finally, we have a backend integration working on full-chip timing, layout and design integration.

Who You Are

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develops the logic design, register transfer level (RTL) coding, and simulation for a CPU required to generate cell libraries, functional units, and the CPU IP block for integration in full chip designs.

  • Participates actively in the definition of architecture and microarchitecture features of the CPU being designed.

  • Applies various strategies, tools, and methods to write RTL and optimize logic to qualify the design to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals as well as design integrity for physical implementation.

  • Reviews the verification plan and implementation to ensure design features are verified correctly and resolves and implements corrective measures for failing RTL tests to ensure correctness of features.

  • Documents micro architectural specs (MAS) of the CPU features being designed. Supports SoC customers to ensure high-quality integration of the CPU block.

Qualifications:

You must possess the minimum education requirements and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, and/or military experience. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 4+ years of experience or a Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 3+ years of experience.

  • 3+ combined experience in:

  • System Verilog/Verilog/VHDL and/or VCS or similar Simulator

  • Logic design and/or front end.

  • Computer architecture and microarchitecture.

WORK LOCATION: This position allows for a hybrid / flexible work schedule with a mix of work spent on site at the Sargent & Lundy office in Peachtree Corners and working remote from home.

  • This position will offer you the the opportunity to work in a project team environment with engineers and other Electrical and Structural designers and/or engineers in the development of transmission/distribution line drawings/designs.

  • You will have the opportunity to apply your computer-aided drafting/design skills, while receiving hands-on training in 3D design software environments, such as AutoCAD 3D and/or MicroStation.

  • Some of your responsibilities will include the development of transmission line plans and profile drawings, transmission/distribution line hardware details, material lists, and grounding details.

  • You will be involved in creating master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions. In preparing your drawings, you will confer directly with engineering staff in interpreting input from a variety of sources, such as engineering specifications, weight and volume calculations, and stress factors.

  • You may accompany and assist other project team members on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information for your design project.

  • While interfacing with vendors and construction contractors, you may be given the opportunity to explain your drawings so appropriate design adjustments can be made.

Essential skills and experience:

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

The Mechanical Designer Engineer will be a member of the Kuiper Inter-Satellite Link team, focusing on the design of the various mechanical ground support equipment, including assembly, alignment, and testing fixturing and tooling.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will be expected to lead a variety of tasks, developing 3D and 2D mechanical design and related analysis specifically for manufacturing GSE for payloads satellite systems in Siemens NX. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in mechanical engineering suited for both prototype and production level designs.

We're looking for a mechanical engineer with aerospace background, and a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively.

You will be expected to work with a team of top-notch engineers and collaborate with multiple other spacecraft design and integration teams. You should be comfortable with a high degree of autonomy and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. A day in the life

You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. As a Mechanical Designer Engineer, your tasks would vary between fixturing and tooling design, design reviews, building and qualifying. This is a cross-functional role requiring constant interaction with multiple HW/SW design teams and end-users.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

  • 5+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience

  • Experience with prototyping and implementation

  • Experience with NX, TeamCenter

  • Experience in DFM and manufacturing process development. Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators

  • Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis

  • Experience with production fixturing and tooling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume

  • Knowledge of Ansys Finite Element analysis tool

  • 5+ years of experience with development, test, deployment of aerospace systems

  • Experience with specifying/justifying margins and test sequences, and qualifying space systems

  • Ability to lead interdisciplinary discussions between Hardware, Reliability, and Firmware teams to define and drive scope and clarity of work, and reach optimum system level trade-offs

  • Strong time and task management skills with consistent attention to detail

  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.

  • Use of engineering project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile tools

In the role of Rail Bridge Designer, we'll count on you to:
  • Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs

The position falls within Substation Department of the organization. The designer will develop electrical construction drawings for substations. They will mentor lower-level designers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the latest standards to create drawings for a given project.

  • Work with part naming and numbering conventions; and file naming and management protocols.

  • Use Vault and ProjectWise for project documentation to track all design modifications and new designs.

  • Handle complex projects with minimum supervision.

  • Coordinate with people from other departments who are involved in a design project

  • Mentor less experienced designers.

  • Check and validate drawings for the project and the drawings of peers and subordinates.

  • Will work under supervision of Professional Engineers.

Protection and Control Focus

  • Create and modify single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC & DC schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, or other equipment schematics such as MOABs, circuit breakers, CCVTs, and panel front views using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and MicroStation.

  • Design protection schemes that deal with breaker controls, line relaying, bus relaying, and communication internal to the station as well as external to the station.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Four plus years of experience designing schematics, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams, and schematics.

  • Four plus years of electrical design experience using MicroStation and AutoCAD.

  • Demonstrable proficiency using AutoCAD Electrical

  • Associate degree in applied science (AAS) in drafting and computer aided (CAD) design or in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering technology or equivalent experience and/or education.

Requisite Abilities and Skills

  • Advanced ability to develop wiring diagrams and cable/conduit tables from schematics

  • Advanced knowledge with single line drawings, three-line drawings, fuse and circuit breaker coordination

  • Advanced understanding of design practices and engineering systems

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Demonstrate ability to work with others in supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $35.10/hr.

JOB DUTIES:

1) Revise, or create ACAD / Solidworks drawings per verbal or written direction from supervisor with

Responsibilities

• Lead a collaborative team to understand client needs, prepare deliverables, and provide project updates.

• Establish design criteria based on industry, company, and/or client standards.

• Create and review computer models of overhead electric transmission lines and structures in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and PLS TOWER.
