In the role of Senior Water Project Manager, we'll count on you to:

  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of medium or large multidiscipline water/ wastewater projects with a high degree of technical complexity, typically in excess of $200K in fees.
  • Independently lead and supervise teams of engineers and CAD professionals to create detailed master plans, engineering reports, design criteria, engineering calculations, design drawings, specifications, and project capital cost estimates for water/wastewater projects and related systems.
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, acquiring new business, developing projects scope and fees, developing project schedules, and performing contract negotiations.
  • Lead and assist in the preparation of proposals.
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
  • Conduct project development or project-related work sessions with clients and/or internal project teams in both small and large settings with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals, and/or other disciplines in attendance.
  • Prepare project management plans and establish project teams, including sub-consultants, and responsibility assignments.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload from project development through project completion while maintaining the project on time and within budget.
  • Work with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller or Company Controller and Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews.
  • Implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.
  • Execute training for personnel as established by strategic plans.
  • Supervise project staff.
  • Manage, lead, and mentor younger staff and less-experienced Project Managers.
  • Maintain professional engineering registration.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 10 years related experience
  • A minimum 5 years project management experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills

Projects may be multi-discipline and geographically dispersed across CDM Smith's Automation Community of Practice. The candidate shall have an understanding of the Automation field and how the following types of projects are executed:

• Basic to highly complex SCADA, controls, cyber security, instrumentation, and related systems designs that include P&IDs, control descriptions, and I&C specifications.

• Master plans and needs assessment reports for SCADA systems and Cyber Security.

• Preliminary Engineering Reports (PER) and Basis of Design Reports (BODR).

The final candidate:

• Creates project definitions, schedules, budgets and objectives for projects using lessons learned. Prepares detailed statements of work with associated work breakdown structures and gains concurrence and approval from internal and external stakeholders.

• Manages project costs and is responsible for ensuring profitability. Identifies, quantifies, and communicates residual risk (time and cost). Responsible for creating and reviewing client invoices with internal support from contract administrators.

• Performs ongoing review of project status. On a regular basis, monitors project risks; identifies possible risks and recommends and implements risk mitigation solutions; escalates as appropriate. Manages project change using change management protocols.

• Develops and implements project resource plan and manages the staffing of assigned projects. Determines and coordinates the proper staffing within the project including identification of outside resources needed (subs/vendors) and ensures procurement processing.

• Builds, maintains and manages strong client relationships. Ensures client satisfaction by delivering quality, on-time project outcomes as a result of good planning and organizational skills; manages client expectations. Identifies opportunities for change.

Brunswick Cellulose of Georgia-Pacific, LLC is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to support projects at our Brunswick, GA, site where you can put your skills to work and make a significant impact. The position is heavily involved in developing and managing project scopes and works closely with both internal and external teams.

The Electrical Project Manager is a member of the Project Engineering Team and works closely with Maintenance, Operations, corporate personnel and outside consultants to manage and execute projects to provide long term value to the Brunswick facility and to Georgia Pacific.

Our Team

The Brunswick Cellulose facility is one of the largest integrated fluff pulp mills in the country with a modern woodyard, fiberline, three pulp machines, a waste treatment plant, and utilities operations. The Brunswick Cellulose mill is part of Georgia Pacific and is in the southeast corner of Georgia within minutes of downtown Brunswick and about an hour from Savannah GA to the north and Jacksonville FL to the south.

What You Will Do

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support the manufacturing operation and maintenance activities with engineering principles, expertise, and leadership in solving and improving the equipment, processes, and procedures in the mill.
  • Understand and utilize the Principle Based Management Guiding Principles in a Project Engineering role to create value for the Brunswick facility.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Electrical and project engineering involving support of the GP Brunswick mill through design, troubleshooting, project guidance, technological standardization and innovation, maintenance strategies, and energy efficiency activities. Involvement includes project scope development, project estimating, project review and management, design and implementation.
  • Serve as a lead resource in this role across all operating areas of the mill. Develop project scopes & estimates, write equipment specifications, review quotes and recommend equipment & materials, size cables, conduit, starters, VFDs, power distribution equipment, etc.
  • Develop capability as a mill subject matter expert (SME) for Power Distribution & Process Control Systems and Electrical and Instrumentation Specifications.
  • Work will involve project management for managing contractors, schedules, scope development, budgets, checkout, commissioning, start-up and other engineering/management activities as required.
  • Mentor entry level engineers in the electrical engineering discipline and in the GP Business Process for Projects (BPP).
  • Work individually or with a team to develop the scope and appropriation grade cost estimates for capital and extraordinary maintenance projects and participate in justification of projects, specification reviews, drawing reviews, safety reviews, and other project document reviews.
  • Provide detail design or support and provide technical assistance to operations, purchasing and construction management in solving both urgent and long-term issues, with focus on mill's asset reliability and sustainability.
  • Possess the ability to effectively communicate with internal customers and leadership, external suppliers and vendors.
  • Work closely with other disciplines to develop all aspects of design requirements for each project.
  • Provide pre and post startup assistance to Construction and Operations to assure that all systems are functioning properly.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Work an extended work schedule during critical project execution periods and during annual mill outages.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • A minimum of 5 years working in project management and/or related experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution, PLC systems, and Honeywell DCS.
  • Project management skills.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD products and MS Project.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Senior Technical Advisor and Subject Matter Expert.
  • Identify new markets and clients to bring in new projects, while maintaining positive relationships with existing clients.
  • Prepare proposals and qualification statements, including estimates and presentations.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Experience: 8+ years of engineering design consulting experience and 3-5 years of project management experience.
  • Skills: Strong supervisory skills, excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and exceptional project management abilities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and technical software.
  • Licenses: Valid Driver's License.

Education and Experience

  • Degree: BS in Civil Engineering or a technical equivalent.
  • Certification: Professional Engineering License in SC, or ability to obtain.

Physical Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide overall management direction on one or more electrical projects (up to $10 million) and develop new business opportunities relative to a particular client, group of clients, particular industry or geographical area.

What you'll do:

  • Assume primary leadership responsibilities for each assigned project in partnership with the designated project superintendent.
  • Evaluate the contractual scope of work. Plan, organize and staff key project positions through regional department heads, subordinate project managers, general superintendents, etc.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of Brandt's corporate policy.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contacts to coordinate scheduling activities and facilitate successful construction activities.
  • Negotiate, prepare and issue subcontracts.
  • Monitor/control project development through administrative direction of on-site project superintendent. Prepare, issue and update master project schedule and variance reports to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget.
  • Manage all financial aspects of contracts (costs, billings, and collections) to maintain profitability goals and positive cash flow while simultaneously maintaining a good relationship with the client.
  • Manage risks. Investigate potentially serious situations to circumvent problems or promptly implement corrective measures as required.
  • Actively pursue additional work through change orders.
  • Ensure project document controls are in compliance with contract requirements and Brandt standards.
  • Attend job progress meetings as required. Develop and maintain viable long-term relationships with customers, consultants, general contractors and subcontractors.
  • Supervise/mentor the work of other project managers or assistant project managers, when assigned.
  • Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of specifications, proposals, and documentation for project cost and labor estimates.
  • Familiar with the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) and local regulations.
  • Proficient in reading civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical plans and specifications.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications and estimating software such as Accubid.
  • Able to develop construction schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.

    • Provide leadership, oversight, and overall management of traffic related engineering projects and studies throughout the state of Minnesota.

    • Provide assistance and technical expertise to traffic related engineering projects within the Midwest region.

    As an Electrical Project Manager at Fountain Services, you will oversee multiple projects from pre-construction through closeout.     Job Summary

    Langan is seeking a Senior Site/Civil Project Manager to join its collaborative team in Tyler, TX. This individual will serve a key function in leading and supporting design, permitting and client management/development efforts for a variety of land development projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner cross-functionally with top industry leadership on a diverse array of premier land development projects.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Design and permit residential, institutional, commercial centers, warehouse distribution centers, and mixed-use projects for both public and private clients;

    • Work closely with office leadership to develop growth plans and ensure staff utilization;

    • Possess an entrepreneurial demeanor and participate in Business Development activities by developing new clients for the firm and maintaining relationships with existing clients;

    • Lead site/civil efforts on a variety of project sites including the ability to design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through completion;

    • Lead storm water management design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design and SWPPP preparation;

    • Demonstrate experience in all aspects of land development engineering including the integration of geotechnical and environmental engineering; and

    • Performs other duties as requested.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering;

    • 10+ years of successful, local and related site/civil engineering experience with a concentration in land development on both small and large projects;

    • Professional Engineering license;

    • Site/civil experience on a variety of project sites including the ability to design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through completion;

    • Strong client development and client management abilities;

    • Proficiency of AutoCAD or Civil 3D preferred;

    • Active participation in professional organizations;

    • Experience in technical and proposal writing;

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

    • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;

    • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and

    • Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver's license in good standing.

    GENERAL SUMMARY

    Manages projects and programs typically greater than $10M total cost including planning, scheduling, and control of activities independently. Leads project teams greater than ten people. Typically assigned multidiscipline projects and programs involving the most complexity, highest risk, highest financial investment, and requiring strong leadership. Establishes priorities within projects and maintains a general knowledge of all aspects of the projects within responsibility scope. Directs the activities of project teams involving multiple disciplines and organizations; maintains a broad knowledge base of new technologies and industry trends as related to assigned projects; monitors project management processes and recommends changes to improve effectiveness and efficiency; manages project budgets, interacting closely with the finance organization and the project controls group; coordinates with other project and line managers; coaches/mentors other project managers and acts for supervisor/manager when required. Considered expert and achieved career excellence in project management (including large scale complex multidiscipline projects) with excellent ability to mentor and lead others.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    The senior project manager manages project activities for refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line work as assigned, providing oversight of the staff involved in planning, leading, controlling, and monitoring to ensure that work is implemented safely, with quality, on schedule, and within budget. This includes all aspects of project implementation including budget, work package preparation, parts procurement, ALARA planning, industrial and nuclear safety, clearance order preparation, work prioritization, resource loading, risk management, and work execution including resolution of schedule delays and conflicts.

    Develops the budgets, including tracking cost versus budget for assigned projects. Assures proper progress and focus through frequent interface with the client, engineers, related parties, and management. Develop and manage contracts and interface with vendors. Develops project schedules commensurate with project complexity and size with the goal of being able to manage risk, accurately track progress, enforce accountability, and manage critical path and float.

    Mentors other less experienced project managers.

    Prepare and deliver written and oral communications to various groups including senior management.

    Develop and maintain long range plan strategies associated with assigned projects.

    Support effective implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.

    Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
