Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):

Data Analytics Support:

  • Support Propulsion Engineering with the business rules being applied for data centralization and data architecture.
  • Partner with the Propulsion Engineering data team to support the identification and implementation of new data analytic requirements with data visualization, web analytics and data science.
  • Partner with IT and other internal business groups as necessary to support deployment and product ionization of new analytical data requirements.
  • Update and distribute the reoccurring reporting for the group and manage the reference tables.
  • Product Support for the Propulsion Engineering webpage.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (aerospace or mechanical preferred) or comparable experience in an engineering related discipline.
  • Should have a technical knowledge of aircraft engines, engine shop processes, engine manuals and standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Previous Airline, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft engines.
  • Experience with SQL databases; specifically, DB2, Oracle, MSSQL, and MySQL
  • Experience with data visualization in Tableau
  • Experience with data analytics software packages such as Alteryx, R and/or Python
  • Familiarity with airline flight operations and support system.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Job Purpose

The Data Analyst will play a key role in partnering with business stakeholders to understand use case requirements and identify opportunities to deliver business value. This role is responsible for translating business needs into functional specifications, building, and maintaining data assets and dashboards, and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders. The role requires a strong grasp of data analysis, visualisation, and stakeholder engagement within the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand use case requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into comprehensive functional specification documentation.
  • Design, build, test, and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI and other NAB visualisation tools to provide at-a-glance actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on Architecture and Development: Define, design, prototype, and deliver a robust lakehouse and analytics platform leveraging best-in-class technologies.
  • Build the Core Platform: Collaborate with the Staff Data Architect to set up core infrastructure involving ingestion (ETL/ELT), warehouse, transformation, orchestration, and BI/analytics layers.
  • Leverage Modern Data Stack: Work across an environment involving GCP-based compute instances and containers (Airbyte, ClickHouse, dbt, metriql, Prefect, Metabase, Next.js frontend) - bringing cutting-edge engineering principles to life.

• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, application monitoring, and incident management.

• Proficient in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.

• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Grafana).

• Familiarity with ITSM tools and CMDB integration.

• Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
