Job description:
Summary
Acting as an escalation point for onsite AV Maintenance Technicians. AVM SMEs are responsible for ensuring that tasks are allocated correctly, and all activities are properly seen through to completion as per stakeholder's AV standards. Highlighting and discussing incidents that make up the top problematic issues in conjunction with the client AV Engineering team. Having a very high level of AV knowledge, this person provides Expert-Level support to the team, and the wider AV support structure. Occasionally, travel to client locations may be required.
Responsibilities:
Managing their own workload whilst assigning other tasks to the team as appropriate.
Serve as escalation point to providing technical assistance to the onsite teams
Identify and surface system bugs to AV Engineers
Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and materials to educate internal teams and end-users on AV technology, equipment operation, maintenance best practices, and troubleshooting techniques
Edit existing Audio DSP configuration/programs, Firmware upgrade etc.
Troubleshoot control issues, working with relevant teams as required
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by customers and other team members through phone, chat, and ticket channels
Liaise with external/internal customers, suppliers and manufacturing vendors according to SLAs and other agreements
Root Cause Analysis -Identify and solve issues that impact the Clients conference rooms
Identify possible trend in incidents and escalate to Problem Management as appropriate
Participate in and lead Problem Management activities
Responsible for escalating hardware or software issues that are outside our SOW to the Managers
Must have excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to do advanced troubleshooting on AV devices/components.
Event Support: Perform equipment setups , breakdowns and troubleshoot issues
Define and enforce standards, policies, and procedures related to AV technology, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Must have excellent communication skills
Team supervision, Mentoring, including training to maintain an efficient service
Proactively work on improving Astreyas AV program processes
Engage in support readiness procedures for new technologies and products
Conduct remote checks to ensure system readiness before acceptance
Assist project management teams with technical recommendations and documentation
Ensure that SLAs and daily deliverables are met including ticket updates.
Create, maintain, and update documentation, technical specifications, schematics, diagrams, and reports related to AV systems, projects, and initiatives.
Conduct quality assurance reviews and audits of AV installations, configurations, and deployments to ensure adherence to standards, specifications, and quality
requirements.
Stay informed about emerging AV technologies, trends, and innovations. Conduct research, evaluations, and assessments of new products, technologies, and solutions
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, departments, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of AV strategies, initiatives, and priorities with organizational goals. Communicate technical concepts and recommendations clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders.
Other duties as consistent with role as required
Qualifications:
Experience of working with Audio DSPs for example BiAmp, QSC
Experience of working with touch control/control processor systems. For example Crestron, Mimo; ability to upload configurations/programs to these systems
Ability to think and work independently
Impeccable wiring and cable-termination skills as well as proper installation techniques of all AV equipment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Experience in reading/understanding architectural, electrical, structural, and AV systems drawings and schematics.
Flexibility to work outside the job description when the need arises
Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Analytical, problem-solving skills, and troubleshooting
PC and Networking knowledge
Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace Apps
Self-starter with keen attention to detail
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Possible travel to troubleshoot,train or support techs within the region
Ability to work various shifts and outside of core hours to provide global support coverage.
Required Education/Experience:
Accredited degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
4+ years experience with AV installations including equipment racks, site preparation, termination and calibration of audio and video equipment, and implementation of control systems in a corporate environment
Must have mastered all aspects of audio-visual field installation and should be able to fully commission an AV System
Providing support to distance sites via chat, email, VC, phone or other methods
Experience should include a combination of design, implementation, integration, troubleshooting, and support of complex AV systems in various environments such as corporate, education, government, healthcare, and entertainment.
A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends, best practices, emerging technologies, and innovations in the field of AV technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
CTS/CTS-I, NSCA, Cedia, Cisco, Polycom, Nexia, BiAmp, QSC Q-SYS, ClearOne, or Crestron Certification
AV Conference room installation experience / certification
Recognition or awards from industry organizations for contributions to the AV community
Experience with Emerging Technologies
