Risk Engineer Consultant (Mid-Senior or Senior)

Zurich's Middle Markets Risk Engineering team is seeking a Risk Engineering Consultant with Property and Casualty Risk Engineering experience to support the Middle Market Underwriting Business Unit. This role reports to the Regional Risk Engineering Manager.

We are open to hiring talent in one of the following locations: Remote GA, NC, or SC. This is a work from home role. This role required State Travel within this territory.

Risk Engineering Consultants:

  • Perform field engineering risk assessments and risk improvement services for prospect accounts and bound accounts. This may be done virtually but often requires travel where necessary but primarily within the region.
  • Provide engineering support to underwriting teams and attend client/broker meetings as needed.
  • Manage account risk portfolio and provide account level engineering to meet underwriting requirements.
  • Provide advanced property and casualty consultative services to customers, identify exposures with significant loss potential, investigate cause/effect of major losses and review/assess property/casualty management program effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement customer service strategies that reduce losses and improve customer operations.
  • Monitor property and casualty account engineering services to ensure that delivery is proper, on-time, and cost effective.
  • Assist in marketing Zurich resilience solutions, and risk transfer insurance products in conjunction with underwriting professionals and agents across company business segments.

Final candidates will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check as this position includes a company car.

Eligibility for a company car will be determined based on the demands of the position and the associated geography. Transportation expense options will be discussed during the interview process.

The role will be filled at the Risk Engineering Consultant or Senior Risk Engineering Consultant level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant's experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

Basic Qualifications:

Risk Engineering Consultant:

  • Bachelors Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area OR
  • Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area AND
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Relevant experience in the assessment of risk, based on what is required by LOB specific competency standards

OR

Senior Risk Engineering Consultant:

  • Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area OR
  • Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area AND
  • Experience working in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate knowledge of exposures and controls

Senior Construction Risk Engineering Consultant

Zurich is currently looking for a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant for the Construction Casualty Lines of Business in our West region. This is a work from home role in the Denver area or within Arizona or Utah. The position includes a company car, with expected travel of 30% of your time depending on business needs.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Will be responsible on multiple large construction accounts within the region.
  • Adapting Zurich's Innovative Solutions to the Construction Industry with the objective of minimizing impacts to customer losses, and overall improvement of Sustainability & Business Resiliency at the Corporate Level.
  • Leveraging Zurich's risk engineering tools and services to improve customer risk and general account management of customers who purchase Zurich Construction Insurance products such as: Workers Compensation, General Liability and Auto Liability.
  • Delivering high quality construction consultative services for customers, including identifying exposures and program risk control gaps to form the basis of risk mitigation recommendations, investigation of cause/effect of major losses for hazard/safety management programs.
  • Developing and maintain positive customer and business partner relationships and collaborate with both customers and business partners to develop appropriate service plans.
  • Marketing and selling a wide range of fee services to customers that support their risk mitigation efforts.
  • Producing advanced level presentations and delivering risk management training for customers and internal business partners.
  • Providing appropriate risk improvement advice, conduct loss investigations (including both trend and root cause analysis), and implement risk improvement programs.
  • Assisting customers with developing corporate and project specific QA/QC plans, safety plans, investigating construction defects when applicable, building envelope reviews and moisture mitigation identification.
  • Participate in Sales Team meetings and presentations to brokers and customers while contributing to fee income sales through opportunity spotting and cross-selling.

  8. Ensures confidentiality of member account records and account information. Request identification whenever necessary and provide account information to only those members listed as primary or joint owners.

  10. Responsible for structuring loan applications, working with underwriters and adhering to all lending policies and regulations.
  11. Makes weekly outbound sales calls to members to increase overall sales performance.
  12. Performs all aspects of MSR position. This includes the ability to accurately balance a cash drawer daily and a firm understanding of all credit union policies and procedures for cash handling, check handling, and identification.
  13. Builds member relationships by recognizing their financial needs and meeting those needs with the appropriate GreenState product and service or referring them to the specialized department (Wealth Management, Commercial, Mortgage, GreenState Insurance etc.) to be served.
  14. Participates in promotions, contests, and other departmental activities which support team goals.
  15. Responsible for sales of loan protection products.
  16. Possesses a thorough knowledge of all federal regulations and procedures concerning deposit.
  17. Performs vault duties including cash ordering, balancing, drawer audits, scheduling, and other duties as assigned.
  18. Plays a vital role in enriching the community by participating in community service organizations and/or Credit Union sponsored events.
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  1. Must have at least three years of similar or related experience or 12 months in a successful MSA role with knowledge of all credit union accounts and products with proven ability to handle a wide variety of functions quickly and accurately.
  2. High energy and sales ability and interpersonal skills to represent the credit union in a positive and professional manner.
  3. Ability to coordinate and prioritize work assignments and organize work efficiently. Must demonstrate good time management skills to meet established deadlines.

  • Perform all sales and leasing activities to reach the community's leasing goals.   • Provide the marketing team with thoughtful feedback to improve the leasing process and sales process seamless
  • Works with the property manager to develop and carry out resident retention initiatives
  • Use the on site property management software (Entrata) to track availability, record traffic/leasing activity, manage prospect and resident data, and other information to use to the full extent
  • Effectively follow up with leads to comply with TLR Group's policies to make the leasing process efficient for the prospect and the community
  • Respond quickly and respectively to all resident concerns with the intention of assisting all resident matters no matter what they are
