Our client, a leader in innovative energy solutions, is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer, NPI to join their team. The ideal candidate will have previous NPI and High Voltage experience which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Staff Electrical Engineer, NPI

Location: Sunnyvale, California

Pay Range: $69.71 - $76.92 Hourly

  • Manage new NPI project transfers to Manufacturing and contract manufacturers.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally within the team and with external vendors.
  • Develop interconnect wiring diagrams/schematics, wire harness drawings, and test procedures.
  • Lead the electrical team in failure analysis of electrical components and implement preventative or corrective actions.
  • Train manufacturing personnel on test processes, test equipment, and test software.

What's Needed?

  • 6-7+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering or New Product Introduction.

In pursuit of Boeing's research and business interests, the successful candidate will:

  • Work on world class, next generation disruptive technologies across the enterprise and at business partners and teammate facilities to develop, document, analyze, and test operational, functional, and environmental requirements of non-recurring development research systems.

  • Analyze customer and system requirements to develop basic architectural approaches for industrial control systems, instrumentation, process control and automation.

  • Provide high impact and innovative solutions to complex technical problems arising from the operation of a facility employing industrial programable logic controllers (PLCs)

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and identify lab system improvements, thru the development of detailed designs consistent with existing system requirements and specifications.

  • Provide critical support and independent review of the work performed by teammates.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain industrial instrumentation and control equipment in an refrigeration system laboratory

  • Perform lab start-up and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control equipment

  • Partner with researchers and technology experts in understanding technology development current state and future goals in order to inform test efforts

Essential Functions

What you will do:

  • Day to day activities include Design, debugging, and collaborating with teammates to develop highly integrated products

Requirements:
  • Electrical Engineering Degree, either BS or MS
  • 5+ years of Senior Electrical Engineering experience
  • Experience with AC mains power design and analysis with knowledge of the National Electrical Code standard desired
  • Digital and analog design experience
  • Schematic capture using OrCad Capture or similar tool
  • Circuit board layout experience in support of layout designer
  • Experience leading projects and resources
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of handheld and wireless device standards
  • Experience in designing robust electronics for industrial environments.
  • Expertise in designing compact, high-density electronic boards.
  • A strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
  • Proven ability in highly efficient power electronics design.
  • Understanding of circuit board design and layout techniques for signal integrity and electro-magnetic compliance.
  • Analog design experience, particularly for low noise applications
  • Product development expertise working with multiple disciplines such as software development, mechanical design, test engineering, and manufacturing.
  • Experience with integrating and validating peripherals such as USB, Ethernet, 802.11, and Bluetooth
  • Enjoys hands-on lab work testing and validating new hardware designs

Bonus Skills

  • FCC/CE Compliance experience preferred
  • FPGA design (Verilog preferred) and verification
  • High voltage design experience preferred (
