DPP is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for an opportunity in Columbia, SC. Work arrangement:

• Partial Onsite: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and as needed. Periodically Wednesday nights and Sunday nights, on-call rotation
• W2 position; 12 months
• Must be eligible to earn a low-level US security clearance (Public Trust), which requires a thorough background search and US citizenship.

Position summary:

• Provides consultative direction for network planning, architecture design and engineering. Determines feasibility from technical and economic perspective. Compiles, analyzes, and reviews operational data. Oversees and directs tests to establish standard for new designs or modifications to existing equipment, systems, or processes.
• Oversees, plans, and evaluates complex network systems and makes recommendations for resources required to develop, maintain and/or expand service levels. Provides consultative support to facilitate design and to resolve design problems. Monitors network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
• Oversees, plans, and ensures implementation of network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. Anticipates and mitigates potential attacks through network or other connections to ensure the security of the system. Provides strategic planning and participation for disaster recovery operations.

About the team:

• This team consists of the Platform Owner for Network, Technology Owners for all Network Technologies, Senior Engineers and Subject Matter Experts for all Network and technicians from NH-Facilities team.
• The team provides tier 3 support of the Network organization, infrastructure projects, technology ownership, and communicationand presentations to senior and executive management.

Preferred skills:

• Enterprise level experience with Cisco Data Cener Routing & Switching (including ACI)
• Ansible, Palo Alto, and/or F5 experience is beneficial

Preferred certifications:

• CCIE, CCNA, CCNP

Minimum required work experience:

• 10+ years of network or other job-related experience.
• Preferred: 12 years of experience working in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering (hardware and/or software), design and planning.

Required education/equivalencies:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field;
• OR, Associates degree in a related field, plus 2 years of work-related experience;
• OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 14 years without a degree)

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of network systems and applications.
• Able to perform high-level network planning, design, and optimization.
• Able to suggest plans to integrate new and existing designs and provide input into highly complex and high impacting decisions.
• Advanced technical knowledge of networking, communications, and related hardware and software.
• Strong knowledge of emerging technologies for applications to the enterprise.
• Capable of taking on the role of project leader for special enterprise-wide assignments.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people.
• Strong understanding of technical problems and solutions in relation to the current, as well as the future business environment.
• High level of understanding of organization business systems and processes as well as industry-wide requirements.
• Proficiency with network technologies and platforms.

Network Engineer responsible for installation, configuration, troubleshooting and support of network equipment in 2 Dc locations as well as numerous remote clinics. Need to be able to support remote network connections between sites, business partners and Optum Technologies. Some evening work required for network changes when the clinics are closed. Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
• 5+ years of experience with networking protocols and expertise in TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP and VLANs
• 5+ years of routing & switching experience configuring and maintaining Cisco routers, switches and load balancers
• 5+ years of experience with wireless & LAN/WAN technologies and understanding of Wi-Fi, SD-WAN and enterprise LAN/WAN setups
• 5+ years of experience with troubleshooting & diagnostics and the ability to identify and resolve network performance issues
• 3+ years of experience with network security and knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention and encryption
• 2+ years of experience with network hardware installation, rack and stack
• Ability to work nights and weekends as part of on-call rotation
• Ability to travel between clinical sites
• Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in technical field or equivalent
• Current industry certifications such as CCNA, Network+ Certification
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls
• Experience with network access controls e.g. Cisco ISE
• Experience with cloud technologies Azure and AWS
• VoIP & Collaboration Tools: Experience managing Cisco Unified Communications or Microsoft Teams Voice

The salary range for this role is $ 71,600 to $ 140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
