Position Summary Tutoring Services is seeking a part-time Front Desk Associate for the Tutoring Center at South Campus in Concord. Front Desk Associates perform basic clerical functions such as data review and document processing, as well as providing excellent reception and general customer service to faculty, staff, and students. Responsibilities may include performing data entry, verifying data, filing, copying, printing, directing phone and walk-in customers, and running standard reports. Front Desk Associates are under the direct supervision of the Director of Tutoring Services.
Required Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalency and six (6) months of clerical, customer service, or office experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of customer service principles, modern office procedures and record-keeping principles; Knowledge of computers and related software applications Skills such as the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with strong interpersonal skills as applied to interactions with students, coworkers, and supervisor sufficient to exchanging or conveying information and receiving direction; strong attention to detail when reviewing data and compiling reports

Work Hours Will vary but will require availability Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. for approximately 20 hours per week.

Duty and Responsibility Review material with students by discussing text, working solutions to problems, or reviewing worksheets or other assignments and provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students.
Duty and Responsibility Provide supplemental instruction to individual or small groups of students to improve academic performance, improve occupational skills, or prepare for academic or occupational tests.
Duty and Responsibility Organize tutoring environment to promote productivity and learning.
Duty and Responsibility Participate in training and development sessions to improve tutoring practices or to learn new techniques.
