High Dosage Tutor

Job Description

Overview:

High Dosage Tutor Status: Part-Time

Pay Rate: $22/hr

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

A High Dosage Tutor works directly with Elementary and Middle School aged students providing tutoring and instructional support in reading and math. High Dosage Tutor assist students with mastery of grade level academic standards in a small group setting of up to 3 students per Tutor. The position is a seasonal, part-time position, employing Interventionist between 2 and 3.5 hours a day during after school hours (as deemed by the school district), 5 days a week. The work schedules are subject to change in accordance with the needs of Think Together.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides small group and individual interventions for students while helping students master instructional materials
  • Engages children and youth by following, and implementing the Intervention curriculum.
  • Reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in other forms of oral communication with students. • Accurately scores student assessments and monitors student progress. • Assists school staff with devising special strategies for reinforcing material based on a understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities. • Alerts the Student and Family Literacy Coordinator of any concerns or special information about individual students.
  • Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
  • • Participates in in-service training sessions as assigned. • Operates and cares for equipment and instructional materials.
  • Keeps daily record information about individual students attendance
  • Completes paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. • Any and other duties as assigned.
  • Arrives punctually in order to meet responsibilities in site start up and assignments.
  • Maintains close communication with Program Analyst regarding planned or emergency absences for the same reason.
  • Serves as a positive role model for children in the program through appropriate dress, speech, attitude and courtesy.
  • Assists in keeping the site maintained to Think Together standards.
  • Complies with organization and site policies and follows procedures.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE:

  • Proof of graduation from high school or GED required • 48 college semester or 60 college quarter units or passing a Pre-Employment test required
  • Experience working with young children preferred along with the ability to inspire and motivate.

Position Summary

Tutoring Services is seeking a part-time Front Desk Associate for the Tutoring Center at South Campus in Concord. Front Desk Associates perform basic clerical functions such as data review and document processing, as well as providing excellent reception and general customer service to faculty, staff, and students. Responsibilities may include performing data entry, verifying data, filing, copying, printing, directing phone and walk-in customers, and running standard reports. Front Desk Associates are under the direct supervision of the Director of Tutoring Services.

Required Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalency and six (6) months of clerical, customer service, or office experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of customer service principles, modern office procedures and record-keeping principles; Knowledge of computers and related software applications Skills such as the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with strong interpersonal skills as applied to interactions with students, coworkers, and supervisor sufficient to exchanging or conveying information and receiving direction; strong attention to detail when reviewing data and compiling reports
