We are looking for a Compositor for an upcoming Series at Sony Pictures Animation.The Compositor will be responsible forcompositing shots under the guidance of the Compositing Supervisor. They will also be responsible for comp tests for environments and characters. This is a union-covered position.

Responsibilities:
Ensure artistic vision alignment and consistency of shot across sequences, maintaining a cohesive look despite varying sequences or environments
Working under the direction of the Comp Supervisor, occasionally help with paint-overs and notes needed to provide direction to the Partner studio
Along with the Compositing Supervisor, review and participate in LRC dailies from the partner studio
Complete internal retakes and shot polishing under the direction of the Compositing Supervisor
Qualifications:
Being comfortable with the 3D environment of Nuke, integrating stock footage plates into a 3D environment
Strong understanding of lighting principles, color theory, and cinematography, with the ability to translate artistic concepts into technical execution
Experience managing render pipelines and optimizing workflows for large-scale animation or VFX projects
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and propose creative solutions
A portfolio showcasing a range of lighting and compositing work, with an emphasis on animated series or similar projects
A passion for storytelling and a keen eye for detail in creating visually compelling animation
Strong understanding of layering, character, and environment for clear readability. Managing multi-AOV compositing techniques and a strong eye for detail and color theory
The anticipated base salary for this position is $62.22/hr to $75/hr. This role qualifies for benefits pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors.
