Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Chapman University seeks applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool for potential teaching opportunities in the following areas/disciplines:

• Art (Art, Art History, & Design)
• English (Creative Writing, Literature & Cultural Studies, Journalism, Rhetoric & Composition)
• History
• Political Science
• World Languages & Cultures (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish)
• Interdisciplinary Minors (Africana Studies, Asian American Studies, Disability Studies, Environmental Studies, Ethnic Studies, Health Humanities, Latinx and Latin American Studies, Law & Liberal Arts, LGBTQ Studies, Religious Studies, and Women’s & Gender Studies)

Appointments from the part-timepoolare temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term, so applicants must be available on very short notice. The Fall term begins mid-August and ends late-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends mid-May.Opportunities for teaching during the Summer and Interterm Sessions may also be available.

Qualifications

Required

• Earned graduate degree from an accredited institutionor professional equivalency
• Demonstrated currency in subject matter
• Strong commitment to student learning, quality teaching, and academic excellence.
• Ability to motivate and teach students of diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
• Ability to teach in-person on campus

Preferred

• Earned Graduate degree from an accredited institution in the subject area related to the position being sought
• Prior teaching experience
